Fatakdi / Alum Powder

How to use this Powder and what is it good for?

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

well as far as i know it reduces hair growth.

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

used powdered, mixed with rose water or even plain water....simple use a cotton ball to message your face lightly for about a minute or so and leave it on for about 10-15 mins and wash off wid water.....it will lighten and eventually eliminates or make them really really light over some period of time.....it also tightens pores....!!

i curruntly use this for over a month(must admit, not very regular though)....and my faicial hair have actually gone less!!! so i am deffinetly continuing until i get rid of those evil hair.... sigh :)

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

is this alum thing bought as powder readily or is it like a chunk and you have to make powder out of it? and where is it available to buy?

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

I like the way you spelled it lol

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

you can buy it as a small soap shaped piece and grind it yourself at home or you do get the powdered ones as well but never used that!!

can get it from any desi shop!!!

where about are you?

if you cant find it go on ebay...they have it!!! it's a bit stupidly over priced though! i bought mine for £1.25 !! :)

Wow, so it really does work. Great! I brought mine like few mnths ago but never got to use it. Wl buy again and use it but on my body not face. I dont wanna take chances on my face as my skin is super sensitive.

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

thanks nida!

how do u grind it?

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

1 question, do u grind it to a powder form or more like a scrub form?!

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

ok i basically got it as this chunk and i use the normal kitchen grater to make to powdery!!! den just mix it wid rose water and use with a cotton ball!! :)

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

just remembered another use for phatkari....it is to use it on underarms....it eliminates the smell for good couple of days....only tried that one once after shower....dun ask why....just wanted to know wether it works or not....and yes it does work!! lolz

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

alum powder is also a very good natural anti-perspirant deodorant!!

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

Good to know it actually works. i watched a tv host recommend it but she said it might work or it might not. iv bought alum powder and havent had chance to try it out. did you only mix it with water? how often did you do it in a week and how long did you leave it on skin, didnt it dry out your skin...to use esp on face, did you experience any redness at all?

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

iv noticed it works after waxing/epilating hair elsewhere, arms legs etc.roots get weaker and hair get sparse.
not sure if it works on facial hair with out getting them waxed/threaded off.. but i use it on my face every once now and then..as a pore shrinker/toner.like i filled in half a spray bottle with some rose water and put in chunks of alum in it.you can use one of your used pump facewash bottles or any spray bottle..and keep it in your washroom.dab your face with the rose water and alum, alum keeps dissolving in it with time.

Re: Fatakdi / Alum Powder

no redness.skin gets a bit dry afterwards...(so do moisturize well later!)
wash this off after some time.
