Legislator says fat Lady Liberty shown in Germany is un-American

A super-sized Statue of Liberty, holding aloft an order of french fries, is adorning food tray liners in Subway restaurants across Germany. And House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Sugar Land, is angry enough about it to lose his lunch.
“This is every bad stereotype about corporate America come true,” DeLay said in a news release.
The ad in German, whose headline translates as “Why are Americans so fat?” is a promotional tie-in to the movie Super Size Me, director Morgan Spurlock’s take on life in the fast-food lane
DeLay was unavailable for comment Tuesday. But spokesman Jonathan Grella said, “When folks criticize America, especially at this sensitive time, we’re obviously going to stand up and defend our country.”
The sad thing is, they are pissed because a statue was shown as being fat, and ‘folks criticise America, especially at this sensitive time’, while these same %^&*s invited over a pastor to the White House to lead the prayers who called our Prophet :saw: a terrorist…And that too right after 9/11…Do we see the hypocrisy here or is CNN actually paying us to believe and repeat what we see and hear?
Of course our brethren in faith could care less about the obvious insult, because let’s face it, who cares about the honour of a Prophet who died 1, 400 years ago…Let it slide…
You have a senator, who is ticked off at the entire German race for showing a fat lady liberty…Read his comments in the original post…
And there you had Falwell who called my Holy Prophet :saw: a terrorist on national television and then being invited to lead a congregation at the White House…
Lajo -- But who's to say that those are the same people? Like in many places, the US government functions through disagreement, debate, and discussion.
Falwell is an idiot; he should not have been involved. But what the heck does that have to do with a fat lady liberty in Germany??? Is the senator criticizing the Germans the same senator who invited Falwell? If so then yes, you have a moron and hypocrite who is a politician (big shock). If not, then I don't see a connection.
There are plenty of members of the US Government who have involved the Muslims and have shown sensitivity to Muslim issues. Are we conveniently ignoring those?
Well, those that shout 'Nuke 'em and be done with it' seem to think so...Majority of their Radio hosts, television personalities seem to think so...Ever read Bill o'Reilly's articles in the Daily News?
I am not denying there are many that are enlightened and understanding of what's happening, but they are voiceless and powerless, and as of recently have been labelled as un-American...
We have to see what the majority have to say, and the majority says that the Muslims need to not bother about what happens in Chechnya, Palestine, Kashmir and Afghanistan and take a chill pill...Let your brothers and sisters die and if you speak out or act out for them we will hunt you down and destroy you like the terrorists you are...Now tell me, what Muslim can stay quiet after witnessing savage barbarity released upon our brothers and sisters...
Do you remember the butcher of Sabra, Shatila and Jenin? He is called a 'man of peace'...What was Shaikh Yassin, the man who couldn't lift a finger called? A terrorist...
I would rather destroy an enemy of Muslims than be cowed by acting displayed by hatemongers in front of me to appease me...
You should see with whom your sentimentalities lie...Be fair to you brothers and sisters in faith...They are more close to you than the Kuffar can ever be...Have sympathy for them and know the cruelties unleashed upon them by these hypocrite nations...
Lajo -- Don't get me wrong. I am as frustrated as you are by the despair that Muslims suffer throughout the world. I speak out against it. I know the so-called journalists that dominate the major media are biased and often ignorant.
My "sympathies" do not lie with the hypocrites, torturers, idiots. I just don't understand why you are connecting these two items. I'm questioning your logic, not your beliefs.
Frustration is a feeling which makes one lash out against those that cause the frustration…Let’s say someone slaps someone’s father, that someone will be frustrated but he will definitely lash out against the perpetrator, not agree with him by saying that what the perpetrator did was an act of great generosity towards his father…
Now, let’s see if I can somehow break it down for you at how these things are connected…
As you well know the saying that respect begets respect…Meaning, if you disrespect a person, you better be prepared to be disrespected yourself…
When Mr. DeLay is angry and infuriated at the Statue of Liberty being shown as fat, was he as angry at Falwell calling my Prophet :saw: a terrorist?
I didn’t hear one American politician, one civic leader, one American guppie, one mod-Muslim or even one newscaster give a fake rebuttal or criticism of this remark…In fact, after this Rev. Falwell was invited to the White House to lead the nation in prayer…
Now, if a Muslim had said something even remotely against anyone, he would have been tiraded with accusations of hate mongering and destroying the image of Islam, and the most coming from confused donkeys of Kuffar, the mod-Muslims…
Do you now see what I am trying to connect here? Let me know again, maybe I might be able to break it down further…
I would rather destroy an enemy of Muslims than be cowed by acting displayed by hatemongers in front of me to appease me...

Lajjo in many Arab countries the kuffar are held in far higher regard than muslim Paki brothers. You wouldn't get arabs buying kafir American kids to become camel jockeys.
That’s truly awful. I don’t know who you are hanging around with, but perhaps the wrong people. Everyone I know was angry, wrote letters, CAIR sent out several notices and letters from Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Yes, he would if it was an unfair and incorrect statement. You think Muslims should be allowed to make false accusations???

I am not supporting Mr. Delay or Mr. GW Bush or any of the ignorant, selfish, narrowminded people that happen to be in power throughout the world.
I know what you’re trying to connect. But you’ve got the wrong audience. You need to direct these comments toward the people who are upset about the Statue of Liberty – show them their own hypocrisy, etc.

Letting your pants drop and giving up by siding with the Kuffar is no excuse...These conditions were brought about by rulers which seek to appease the Kuffar...
You must remember, it was the Arab nations from which the majority of Mujahideen were after the Afghans themselves...It was these Arabs that were willing to die for other Muslims for nothing...
The Kuffar didn't send in a single soldier except spies which were there to make sure that the weapons they were supplying were being put to good use, nothing more...Where was "Operation Afghanistan Liberation" then? There was none, because the cowardly (*&%#s these Americans are, they couldn't afford to send in troops against Russia, a foe equally, if not more powerful...
Lajo -- Don't forget to distinguish between the government and the people. Imagine if we were always judged by the people who happen to run our country!
Lajjo you need to understand that not wanting to see muslim countries stagnate and revert to medieval times isn’t “letting your pants drop” as you put it. Who gives a $hit what Falwell says? Look we can call him some names back if it makes you happy.
How about Fart-breath Falwell?
As for the arabs they should go liberate Saudi Arabia and leave us to play cricket matches with the Indian kuffar in peace.
i wonder, what is it that makes someone like you, who obviously believes the US is extremely anti-muslim, stick around in the country? all the more so after you yourself posted about not being able to find a job in the US.
until you move to a different country to help out your oppressed brethren, or atleast share their travails, most people here - mod muslims or not - wouldnt attribute much credibility to your rants.
