Don't the onions burn without any oil???
I try to use as little oil as possible and not
only the onions but the pan itself starts to burn.
well I got a pan that was nonstick and decently good quality so my onions become a brown to medium dark brown not burnt and they don't stick to the pan but yea I don't use any oil at all so it might feel really strange in the beginning but you get used to it. Mind you, these were dishes I made for myself and if I was to serve it to anybody else I would use the ghee and oil. I use this technique to cut out the fat only for myself
As far as I have heard olive oil is only good until
it hasn't been heated. After that it's the same as
some of the other oils.
Thats correct. Olive oil is best used as salad dressings etc. Once heated it fast loses its benefits. Plus you got to be careful when heating cos it heats up faster than the usual corn/sunflower oil.
--olive oil is good but afterall its OIL...which is fat only..so avoid..but the indo-paki cooking style is like this we can't omit the oils completely from our diet..i have seen some people ..when they cook they put the whole lot of oil ..only because of this poor reason k sallun mai rung roop nai ayega ..laal shorba chiyea...turri achi lugti hai...and lot more ....
but i too brown my onions with very little oil and yes nothing burns...buss 1-2 inch ki turri nai ati..this is the only loss...but its still bearable...so use less oil..
--dont drink b/w meals..thats one of the reasons of bulging tummies..
--for chocolate..i too like a lot...but i eat kit kat bar..which has only 104 calories...eating the same bar everyday..now i dont crave anymore and i dont eat chocolate..
--for tea-time,sometimes,i put some lite fresh cream on brown bread and then put grilled chicken piece.its very delicious..
--coffee(78 cal..cal depends on the brand..my brand has 78 cals and its extra rich and creamy taste) with 3 oatmeal cookies (only 80 calories)is also gr8..
--whole-wheat rusk with lite fresh cream is good too
--have choker k atay ki roti..its brown but doesnt taste bad..
I suggest using olive oil in cooking. Also when cooking red meat, drain away the first boiled water u know the after a few minutes.A doctor suggested that to my ami after my Abu had his bypass surgery. This removes the extra fats
I just stopped having breakfast and started using sweetner, instead of regular sugar. I know, its not that healthy, but I did loose about 4 kg in a month or so…cut down on my carbs a lil…adn I DID start losing weight :bhangra:
For those who want to loose weight, just remember one thing, Go SLow! so if you loose weight once, you’d be able to maintain it later. Not like losing a couple of pounds one month, and gaining in the next.
