Re: Fat Cutting Tips for Everday Foods
Isnt cutting fat from your food leading to loosing fat
What is the whole purpose of eating healthy or subsituting fat for other healthier things.
Well anyway I have some more.
I never liked mayo and never will. For bread use the whole grain bread or any bread thats brown in colour, we get a whole variety of healthy bread over here.
I most often eat tomatos with mozorella cheese, with the green sauce pesto and a oil that has a dark green almost black colour, its very yummy dont need any other dressing, will look at the name tomorow.
I dont know I just have a feeling for good or bad food, thats cos I very often read the calories on the packets.

Nice tips guys!!! shweetdreamz yogurt as a salad dressing is a good idea, i never thought of that.
I love eating some sort of sweets everyday so my latest frozen dessert is yoplait yogurt. I just freeze them for a little while and they are just yumm. And Muniya if you are on WW, the light ones are only 2 pts i think.
Also, for sweetening tea, coffee etc use Splenda or some other non calorie sweetner.
Thats all i can think of right now.
Re: Fat Cutting Tips for Everday Foods
nice tips...:)
me and my husband both crave something sweet after dinner....i saw this recipe on food network ....she just blended a cup of frozen fruits(mixed berries) with some low fat milk and a little vanilla extract...and blended it and then froze it...like a sorbet...
i have made it with frozen berries, strawberries, mangoes and peaches...and i just love it....!!!
just another thing i do(and think that i am doing a healthy thing....)is that i dont use the yolks while using eggs...i like eggs in form of omelette or scrambled so to enjoy them i get rid of the cholesterol rich part(the yolk) and have the whites...
and there isn't really that much of a difference in taste....:)
but i still have a looooong list of unhealthy things that i crave and cant resist.....:(

whats a good substitute for chocolate? thats my biggest weakness and I could easily eat 3 or more bars in just one sitting ![]()
Re: Fat Cutting Tips for Everday Foods
grill your food, even in winter using grills where extra fat can drip away.
poach eggs rather than frying them
bake things that u would fry otherwise..chips, breaded fish, shammi kebabs etc
Re: Fat Cutting Tips for Everday Foods
Hi All - Since we are all always trying to watch the figure (or in my case, lack there of) I thought we should have a thread on some simple healthy replacements for not so healthy ingrediants.
I'll start.
**1. Rather then Mayo, I dress my sandwhiches with hummus **
**2. Rather then making tuna with Mayo, I make it with avacado. Personally I think it tastes better and is just as filling if not more then Mayo. **
Okay -- add on everyone.
Anyway...I make substitute fries....Parboiled or light steamed potato cut into thick fries or thick round slices and coat with olive oil salt paprika pepper if you like and grill them or microwave them. Taste yummy if grilled with skin on and slightly charred.
Re: Fat Cutting Tips for Everday Foods
^^ Oh and I remebered instead of potatoes for above you can use sweet potatoes which also regulate your sugar levels and so dont make you crave fatty or sweet or high carb foods.
Re: Fat Cutting Tips for Everday Foods
the key is portion control, especially with chocolate. don’t deprive yourself entirely cos then you’ll break down and eat 3 bars at once and completely ruin your healthy eating habits. eat little bits, once a day. or try the weight watchers chocolate cakes- they’re really good and they’re in the freezer section of the supermarket. there are also certain candies that have fewer calories so opt for those.
this article has GREAT suggestions!

Re: Fat Cutting Tips for Everday Foods
1- reduce oil when you cook
2-when eating fill up the plate with salad mostly and leave
very little room for salan etc. Also reduce the amount of bread
you eat.
3-Report back in a few months. :D

Re: Fat Cutting Tips for Everday Foods
I don't use oil or ghee at all while frying onions to make any dish, and dry saute them until brown and dry fry the masalas too. For me it tastes better because this way you taste the various masalas more rather than all that ghee which just ruins it and is overpowering sometimes.
It's obviously cutting out a lot of fat and boneless chicken by itself isn't too fattening especially when you have all the fatty parts cut off.

As far as I have heard olive oil is only good until
it hasn't been heated. After that it's the same as
some of the other oils.

Don't the onions burn without any oil???
I try to use as little oil as possible and not
only the onions but the pan itself starts to burn.
