It's preferred to fast 2 days instead of 1, even though both are optional.

Either 9-10 or 10-11 of Muhrram.

It's preferred to fast for two days or one should fast for 2 days. Either on 9th and 10th or on 10th and 11th.

It’s a shame to see the Shias having a problem with following the sunnat of hadrat Mohammad-e-mustapha :saw:], when hadrat Imam Hussein ] themself put their life on the line to protect their nana jaan :saw:] way of life.

Has it occured to you, we might have a different source for the sunnah of the Prophet (saw)? Its a shame seeing such ignorance and intolerance around.

Shias do not fast on Ashura because they are busy with matams and stuff... you need to eat to be able to take any self-beating.

There is only one Sunnah of the Prophet and one sunnah. Many things that shia's do today were not done by the prophet or people who shias supposedly got the sunnah from.

I know that many Muslims were martyred there just like in Uhud, Badr, Khandaq, Khyber e.t.c…

Apart from the fact that the grandsons of the Holy Prophet :saw: were martyred there, is there anything special I do not know about it?

You have a gall denying anything that we list about shia beliefs. Taqqiya seems to be a popular practice, I guess.

Oh gosh. Where is this going? Anyway, this thread was opened only for a very specific purpose which was to remind the members of the dates of muharram, for those who wish to fast on the ashura. The thread has served its purpose. I had purposely posted little details in the first post, to keep arguments to a minimum. Thus the ensuing shia-sunni fassad has no place here.

I am, therefore, closing this thread. Jazak Allah khairun.
