We have our first baby now 6 months old.
He is healthy Masha Allah and growth rate also normal.
His Mother is Fasting(Second day) , but last day she were telling , she is feeling thirsty , which I too feel as here in UAE it is natural due to hot weather.
But , I wonder it may be because of her breast feeding the baby.
Is there any one to guide us regarding this
Wether she should postpone her fasting to other months.
pr she should continue with fasting.
Also we have started Cearls to the baby since last week .
she is exempt from fastin if she is breastfeeding the baby
breastfeeding can make u very thirsty n its important that she stays hydrated by taking lots of fluids
Its upto her and islam also gives provision to the nursing woman. If she doesnt feel right then may be she can skip the fasts or keep each alternate one?
A pregnant, nursing or mentruating woman is exempt from fasting and allowed to make it up at another time.
When a mother nurses her baby, her body requires more than double the amount of fluids to maintain healthy breastmilk. And also to maintain her physical health. She also requires regular and frequent meals keeping in mind that everything she eats goes into the breastmilk. If mom is feeling weak and sickly then almost surely baby will feel this way too.
Good to hear. I also have a 6 month old that i am nursing and i fasted the first two days but they just sucked so much out of me I didnt fast yest and missed today too.
