Fasting and Ajar

I am aware that the good deeds we do while fasting in the month of Ramzan carry more ajar. However, is the reward for good deeds also increased when we fast outside of Ramzan? And I’m not referring to fasting the days if Shawal or fasting in certain days of the month as prescribed in the Sunnah, but rather a random.

Say you decide to fast tomorrow, On a Saturday, and you do a good deed, does it carry more reward because you did the deed in the state of roza?

Re: Fasting and Ajar

Good deeds in Ramadan carry more reward because they're done in Ramadan, not because of the fasting.

Re: Fasting and Ajar

right Captain...the month of Ramadhan is a blessed month. so outside of this month, rewards don't multiply as much as in this month. again, Allah looks at your niyat [intention] and He is free to award you as He pleases...always be hopeful and look for Allah's bounties. :)

Re: Fasting and Ajar

Okay so the state of fasting outside of Ramzan does not increase the ajar of good deeds, this remains unaffected then. Correct?

Re: Fasting and Ajar

Allah loves His bande fasting more than anything else other than salaat and zakaat/sadaqaat...it's purely for Allah and He will reward as much as he pleases but not as much as the fasting during the month of Ramadhan...this is why Muslims are sad on alvidaa [last Friday in Ramadhan] because we don't know if we will get another chance [live long enough] to fast in the next year's month of Ramdhan. Ramadhan has a special place in Islamic calendar because of it's blessings.

Re: Fasting and Ajar

Fasting in and of itself doesn't increase the ajar of good deeds, be it in Ramadan or not. The increased value of deeds in Ramadan is not from the fasting but due to the month itself. So even if you were to not fast in Ramadan, let's say due to being sick or something, good actions would still be multiplied in their value despite your not fasting.
