I HAVE to disagree…i think that it can be done…if with the rite top and accessories…
Brown shoes also go great with Gray suits. It depends on teh shoes. If you are wearing some crap laceups stay home.
Fraudz I agree with the loafers bit. Loafers can be quite gay, It is assumed that you would be not wearing a pocket square or a tie when wearing laofers also for the love of christ don't put a penny int eh penny loafers.
mat..it depends on what type of lace up and what shade of brown. My uncle who is still a major stud at 75 looks great in his grey flannels or tweed with darkish brown suede shoes..
loafers can be very kewl tool, many companies are making really nice loafers modern or classic but desis somehow can not find the cool loafers..and insist on wearing the ones which would remind one of michael jackson..

Fraudz my boss wears a mustard brown suit with a medium blue shirt. or this weird greyish blue suit with medium brown shoes. Thats enough for me to have nightmares about blue and brown!

dont wear an ascot..hardly anyone can pull it off. and defintely dont wear an ascot with a double breasted polyester blazer with shiny brass buttons, too tight levis cotton pants..whatever the hell they are called, and michael jackson shoes..with a braided belt or braces/suspsenders (US).
some desis have a great knack for mixing rustic, casual, formal and trendy stuff all at the same time and then walk around like some damn GQ model, when they look like the illegitimate child of penguin from Batman, joker from batman and jerry lewis..
at that point in time u want to give them a digital watch, a monocle, a trucker hat and chaps..to add in a few more things that just dnt go together and put them in a freak circus.
but desis are not the only ones to blame, i have seen folks wear tanktops, jeans, dress jackets and cowboy boots as trendy wear..atleast back in early 1990's u could see many of these idiots walking around in kansas city..kinda like a ugly cross between crockett from miami vice and yosemite sam..

Browns only work if there is some texture to the cloth. Cords, tweeds etc are ok..Camel is also a good color for sport jackets but make sure it is cashmere...anything else is uncivilzed. Brown suits by Jil Sander or John varvatos are good ...

yo yo yo, dunn forget te all time classic jackets in camel hair..you dont see many of those around these days, but they def have a diff spin on it. look great too, especially in camel colour.

I can't hold this any longer. My boss is wearing a dull, medium brown suit with a navy and white striped shirt with a goldenish mustard tie in a dark and light shade diagnol stripe pattern. Somebody kill him please.
