Some of the incidents talked about I did not even know ever happened.
Powindah’s massacre, anti-communist programs, Bajaur bombing etc.
Really amazing for history buffs.

Re: Fascinating reading: correspondence from US diplomats on Pakistan
This quote I found practically interesting. It appeared in a secret memo to combat communism in East Pakistan by the US embassy.
[quote]
An "understanding" with religious leaders should be achieved so that an anti-communist drive can be launched from the pulpit. This campaign should use the theme that communism being anti-religion is therefore anti-Muslim. Material showing persecution of religious groups and in particular persecution of Muslims should be provided for this campaign.

And I thought the Khudai Khidmatyar never used force! I guess everything has exceptions.
[quote]
ABDUL HANAN, a veteran Consulate driver who is a Kuz Mohmand from a small village southwest of Peshawar, recently reported for work with a discernible pain in his side. On being queried as to the trouble and cause, Hanan replied with much embarrassment that he had been struck by his village mullah because he, Hanan, had refused to join the National Awami Party (NAP). Hanan said that, in common with many villages, the mullah in his village is the leading organizer of the NAP, or, as the organization is still called in the villages, the "Surkh Posh" -- "Red Shirts" in Pukhtu.

What's the credibility of this site?
I mean why would someone want to post this stuff?
Is the owner of the site ex-US intel?
Re: Fascinating reading: correspondence from US diplomats on Pakistan
They are supposedly declassfied couments from the National Archive, which I think anyone can access.
Re: Fascinating reading: correspondence from US diplomats on Pakistan
How did you find out?
There looks like a lot of stuff is blacked out!
Re: Fascinating reading: correspondence from US diplomats on Pakistan
I was just doing a google search for something, forgot what it was. I don't see any blacked out marks in these documents? These are not direct CIA communication I believe so not much to hide in these anymore.
Re: Fascinating reading: correspondence from US diplomats on Pakistan
Actually not 'blacked out' but 'white out' if you look at some documents!
Some of the stuff is known (atleast to me and people i know) while some other stuff is shocking but not impossible!
