Do you usually give the boss or director or whoever you worked with something when you leave the team , like at the end of your training course etc ?
Any suggestions for what I should give him , he’s a 60 yr old American ?

Re: Farewell Gifts
Actually he should be giving you something, like taking you out for lunch or something. But I guess if you want to leave him with some gift, how about something desi, a decoration piece or something like that.
Re: Farewell Gifts
Give him a marble keepsake box, or something for his office desk...a nice pen perhaps.
He actually has invited me out to lunch tomorrow , so that’s why I think Ishould get him something…
TLK , what desi thing can I get in America ?![]()

Re: Farewell Gifts
^ if my valentine is like you, i will happily with pure-heart gave a lotta fill with heart-shape chocolates ...
Take the team out for lunch. Tis more professional than giving gifts.
Besides, you get to have a nice chat with your boss and other colleagues, outside the work environment. That strengthens the relationship.
Seriously you are the one going away . They should arrange a party nobody exchanges gifts at that occasion. Only if you were on a project and the project got completed successfully they will give you and the entire team some project related memorabilia.

***It was a research project and the guy helped me with it....and he has invited me to dinner !
Since he helped me with staying longer to complete it , I thought it would be a good idea to give him something ....no ????

No. He did his job. He got paid for it by your sponsor or granter.
He needed to do a good job so that he could get more understudies.
Re: Farewell Gifts
cuban cigars ;)
Re: Farewell Gifts
or some kind of desk decoration stuff like pen holder in gilt gold or crystal paper holder or or or..........
next person can suggest something else :D
Well, in case a person is leaving, v’ll (Boss & staff) give him/her farewell party (lunch/dinner) and present a sheild with sm remarkables words on it. The person who is leaving can also contribute in it (depends).
You can give him/her gift (whatever u like) by inviting him/her on personal invitation. If u give in presence of all that looks lil bit odd and maybe sm other officers of staff member may don’t like.
Best for a person if he/she leaving, he/she may invites all at lunch/dinner.
:k:
Re: Farewell Gifts
