I wish to gift something to my boss. He is CIO and he is leaving the company. He has been very kind to me. He is bright young chap , gora and a very nice guy.
He helped me out in building my career and did some personal favors too.

We never had any personal contact outside of work though, so we have formal relationship only. I might need to use his reference some day, though not in near future . I have added him to my LinkedIn network already and I will request a recommendation on LinkedIn.

So give me some gift ideas for a gift up to $100.

Awww...he sounds like a nice boss!

How about some cufflinks?? Or a personalised calendar?? (you can get his name integrated into the photographs!)

Can you get him a decent digital photoframe in $100? That's a great gift since he can take it to his next office and displays pics of his family or keep it at home.

some smartphone application

if he is into photography, gift him a flickr account

photograph a group photo of your colleagues and frame it

a pen

a diary

iPad :D

a book

a nice frame of glasses (okie may be not...cuz may be you need prescription for that)

if he likes plants, get some some plant (i think you are into plants...so give him something from your garden)

give him some ethnic pakistani thing, like a marble ashtray maybe? or a marble decoration piece?

if not, give him a guys pashmina shawl if he will wear it.

else give him a cool cell phone.

If he is a gora/angraiz, then you should give him some Pakistani handmade things... like marble made showpieces.

You can get these things easily in $100
