I have been listening to man for few years now ( on NPR, TV etc) and i think man has good interviewing skills when it comes to international matters but when it comes to Pak somehow he sounds extremely bitter with not only his opinion but also with the way he posses questions, he doesn’t sound like a journalist on CNN but someone on NDTV, Zee News or Doordaarshan!
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
Next Sunday @ 1:00pm ET Musharaf is going to be in the show. That will be an interesting viewing!
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
I agree, he is someone ready to pull people's pants as soon as Pakistan is mentioned.... lets see what he does with Musharraf :D
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
i predict it will be a schmoozefest with zakaria paying compliments to mushie and mushie saying yes pakistan is big threat.
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
Well has any indian ever paid Pakistan a single compliment?
I heard lata once said to Mehdi hasan " aap kay ghalay mein bhagwan bolta hay"
Manjrekar once said, if he had a choice he would like to come back as Imran khan.
So lots of instances... Indians are mostly good ppl but they have idiots like we have nut cases.

Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
He is an Indian muslim , so possibly some bias exists. But I've heard the guy. I'm sorry. Lets be fair. Pakistani gov't has REALLY been screwing up, and even though I'm of Paki descent, I'm sick of it too. I don't blame him for sounding annoyed. I think everyone is at this point.
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
The Interview on on CNN right now
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
i think musharaf spoke well. he makes zardari look like an idiot.
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
musharraf does some cutesy stuff on cam with his face and neck lol.. he's like a big huggable uncle.
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
Where can we listen or watch the interview BTW if you can't on CNN? Anyone
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
I think he spoke very well too.
Farid asked that after 10 Billion aid by US why has Pak not been able to stop taliban. And Musharaf replied with a very firm tone that 5 BILLION of it was not not aid and was payments to Pak for its services, it was money for Pak services that it provided to US, it was our money not your, There goes half of 10 billion, rest of 5 was spent on Militry and half for social services. Farid who normally repeats this 10 billion aid questions over and over again even when he interviews someone like Joe the plumber was left to be quite.
Farid asked why has this situation in Pak have worsen even though army has been in northern areas for months
Musharaf replied that there were no Clear cut directions for Army to what to do Provisional Govt is was giving mix signals on we will solve this politically, u hold on or u stay away that is why you can not entirely blame army for this situation
Re: Fareed Zakaria and Pakistan
Could Mr. 10% (Ghaddari) be able to convince these biased news caster like that? Not really.
Provisional Govt is was giving mix signals on we will solve this politically, u hold on or u stay away
That provincial governments of JUI and ANP looked at the situation only through the narrow window of Pashtun nationalism. To ANP, Taliban were their brethren.
That was too naive a thought, as was proved after ANP's agreed "peaceful" Nizam e Adl system.
Taliban problem is not a Pashtun problem. This is a religious problem. Taliban follow the most violent and deviant form of Islam. A Taliban's brother is only another Taliban, whether Pashtun or Punjabi. These fanatics will kill anyone who disagrees with them, whether Pashtun or Punjabi.
ANP learned it the hard way. But another Pashtun nationalist, Imran Khan, still has not learned the lesson.
Could Mr. 10% (Ghaddari)
The only "ghaddars" are those who supported and sympathized with Taliban.
Zardari is the one who did the right thing and went after the Taliban kharijis.
It is fortunate for Pakistan not to have Nawaz baaghi, the Taliban's supporter, as president or PM.
Great answers, truly speak like a leader :k:
