Roman version:

Ashfaq Ahmed kehtay haiN aik dafa’ aik sawaal nay mujhay bahut pareshaan kiyaa. Main nay apnaY milnaY waaloN say aksar poochaa laikin meraa dil mutma’in naheeN huvaa. sawaal thaa:
Musalmaan aur Mo’min maiN kiYaa farq hai?

AisaY maiN aik din maiN aik gaaooN (village) say guzraa. Main nay aik buzurg ko dekhaa jo gannaY kaa russ (sugar cane juice) nikaal rahaY thaY. MeraY dil maiN jaanaY kiYaa khiyaal aayaa maiN nay unn Baba Jee saY sawaal poochaa:

Baba Jee: KiYaa aap mujhaY bataa saktaY haiN Musalmaan aur Mo’min maiN kiYaa farq hai?

Baba jee nay apnaa Sar uThaayaa aur kahaa:

Musalmaan woh hai jo Khudaa KO maantaa hai aur Mo’min woh hai jo Khudaa KEE maantaa hai.

My dad read it to me in urdu, and it sounds a thousand times more beautiful in urdu than in english :)
