Re: Farah Talib Aziz uffff
Oh my gosh what happened?? She's the one I want to make my bridal with the MOST. Can you explain your experience?
Re: Farah Talib Aziz uffff
Actually you are right...I met up wit the daughter ( Maliha Aziz) at one of the exhibitions when she was visiting here in Dubai. All i did was enquiring about the prices of a few bridals i had in mind. First question she asked is what is your budget?
Umm excuse me? Just tell me what YOUR prices are and pls dont worry about my budget. If i can afford it I will buy it from you.....and she was giving one line answers to whatever I was asking her.
However, I must say that I had whatsapped her to ask her for close up pics and she was very promptly replying to them. I guess its because I was wearing a simple dress and scarf when I met her, she assumed that I was too poor to afford her clothes lmao!
Re: Farah Talib Aziz uffff
Oh really - top one on my list. Looks like she is gone to just like Dr. Haroon (He quoted me more then what he quotes most people - I don't know why).
I inquired about her starting range on facebook and I had a nice reply but I assume it was one of the social media moderator and not Farah T. Aziz ofcourse. Wonder what it will be like when I speak to her in person or through whatsapp - please share your experience.
Re: Farah Talib Aziz uffff
Hey I mentioned it in an earlier post too i think ...when i contacted them for my jora and pricing she quoted me 5 lac starting with a basic jora which i thought was overpriced especially since a lot of guppans quoted that price for a heavy jora. Disappointed but not disheartened i send them a picture of maliha aziz jora and i was upset cause the reply was this is wayy too expensive a jora and when i requested that they atleast give me a quote they never replied.
I mean this is fb so forget judging me on how i dressed this is just judgement period! and I had not gotten to the point to discuss any price range either was just requesting a quote for them to ignore my request. They were my top choice for bridal, mehndi etc. I was thinking of ordering both from them plus some bridesmaids outfits but i decided against her.
Thats just me though, I hope if you choose them they do your special day justice :)

Thats very sad - who are they to judge anyone? I mean it is us the public that gives them the fame once they are in the business and actually good. We spread the word o mouth about them being good, get them popular through social media, etc.
Who did you decide to go for instead?
Re: Farah Talib Aziz uffff
Hey mahika just replied to your pm with details :) I hope i dont overwhelm you and look forward to your feedback :)
Re: Farah Talib Aziz uffff
Wow. I'm gonna be meeting Maliha next month (hopefully) in the UK at a clothes exhibition for her brand (and a few other labels), will see whether she comes across that way!
Re: Farah Talib Aziz uffff
I've had really good experiences dealing with Maliha (Never dealt with Farah) :(. I am in the plans of ordering my bridal from them just because Maliha is so easy to communicate and I love their work. I am sorry it wasn't the same for you.

Agree, it's surprising to me. I've gotten really professional responses from them on price inquiry, and someone else (who is not RICH) had a lovely experience with Maliha. She gave Maliha a $300 budget for a formal, which is not a huge amount for a Pakistan designer, and they communicated on whatsapp and she got an outfit she loves.
FTA is expensive. That's just a fact. And if you go to them asking for a smaller budget then inquire about something that's likely 3-4 times more expensive than that, they're not going to want to get into a back and forth about that because it's a waste of their time. If you say you have a budget of $5,000 and then inquire about something that's probably close to $15,000, they are totally in their rights to discourage you from the latter.
Sometimes I think in Pakistan it goes both ways. Consumers expect designers to fall over themselves for you and are SO easily offended. To be fair, they don't have to chase after you and your money - they're doing fine as it is.

Also if you don't mind me asking, any details on the bridal ordering process? Are you doing totally custom or adjusting a current design? And did they work with your budget

I have ordered few things from them. Got a very heavy suit made and it turned out beautiful. Only complain would be it took longer than expected but since I was in no hurry, it worked out okay. But if you have a time frame make sure it has a good buffer.
It would be a customized outfit. I love her work but I am looking for a more modern cut lengha and so the customization. I have yet to decide on work and budget but I did reach out to Maliha. I would probably start the process next month (the wedding is in Nov) and am hoping she can do it within a limited budget but I am going to let her give me a quote first based the amount of work I ask and take it from there.

Hi cricfan14,
As i mentioned in my pm to you as well I have no personal vendetta against FTA, I was simply sharing my experience. Im certain Maliha might be an amazing person and maybe my fb contact with them was an exception. However let me say this again, I never quoted my price range infact my first lines on fb to them were exactly this:
"Let me begin by saying you guys have some beautiful designs and seems to be moving up real fast in the world of Pakistani fashion. Could you please give me an estimate regarding your bridal outfits? Also what is your turnover time with regards to accepting and delivering orders?"
Then i asked for the price of the outfit Maliha wore at her reception. and sent an attached picture. Their reply was curt saying our basic bridals start at $5000 and that this was very expensive. when i said please quote me a price irrespective since I myself had not decided a price range nor discussed one with them; they didnt respond. Being polite i resent the request saying i've contacted you please reply and I know its a customized outfit so if its something specially for her and you do not wish to replicate please do let me know so i can look at other options, they still didn't have the courtesy to respond.
So to me its a red flag, poor customer service means if they mess up my order online or dont ship my outfit or respond I would be stuck as Im not traveling to Pakistan, if i was i would have made an appointment as personally gone in.( As I mentioned in my pm to you as well.)
Im not expecting anyone to fall to my feet but i did wait a week before i re-texted them requesting a reply its been 2 months Ive still not received one. So yes if im looking at spending more than $5000 dollars I have the right to expect some service. Infact any penny spend is hard earned dont chase me but if your busy reply we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Im happy to hear your friend had a great experience getting an outfit from them and that you got a prompt response via email. If I decide to go with FTA ill definately take your advice an email them instead. However I do think we are all entitled to our own opinions when sharing our experiences, there shouldnt be a judgement attached to it.
Im glad to see some great reviews too, its gives me hope that if i do fall in love with an outfit maybe ill reach out to them again. Who knows..

Oh I didn't mean you! The person who started this thread just said "uff they're so awful" with NO context. Like, maybe they were awful, but when you just say something like that with no background, no context, no explanation for why you're saying they're nasty people, it strikes me as a little strange. And she never came back to explain why, what happened, etc.
Someone else followed up with a bad experience with Maliha basically implying that she wasn't nice because she didn't look "rich." I'm just point out that my friend, who isn't "RICH" had a good experience. She met FTA herself then communicated with Maliha on email and they were pleasant enough, though obviously that's not everyone's experience and it makes me nervous myself to deal with them.
btw I think you and I are in very similar positions with location, budget, etc!
