This is the thread with the rules and regulations for the upcoming WC.
Basically the same format will be used as last time around.
Please notice that you will have to submit your team only ONCE, but that you have to submit your results THRICE (first round; before knock-out stage; before semi-final and final).
Please read on and only post questions in this thread.
For submissions of teams and results, please refer to the OTHER thread in the forum.
In this fantasy league, you can obtain points in two ways: via your match-predictions and via your teams.
First, the matches:
for each match, all participants will make a prediction of the result for each team involved in the tie. Points are awarded based on the actual scoreline. If you have the goals right by one team you will get 10 points; if you are 1 goal away you will get 3 points. 2 or more goals adrift is 0 points. This is done for both teams in the tie.
example: France - England.
my prediction 3-1
actualy scoreline 2- 1
here i will get 3 points because i was one goal away for france + 10 points because i was spot-on with respect to the goals scored for england. i will receive total 13 points for the tie
if my prediction was 0 - 0, i would have only gotten 3 points (1 goal adrift in the england score = 3. more than 2 goals adrift for the french score = 0).
These predictions will be made for all matches in the first round. After the first round, we will submit again the score lines for the known second round matches, quarter final matches, and again for the semi-final and final.
Second, the teams:
if we have this, we will have plus or minus points for strikers, midfielder, defenders AND goalkeepers.
selection criteria
Submission of squads will start once all squads have been finalized; I will insert a link here in which you can find the positions of different players; We will use those positions in this fantasy league. E.g. Christiano Ronaldo can be considered a forward or midfielders by different sites, we will use the categorization of the link I will publish here

Nescio, I would make one belated suggestion, kindly rename strikers to forwards... cuz Messi and Ronaldo are not strikers but forwards.
