Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

Hello everybody,
I think the rules should be modified to better suit the ODI format.

BATTING:
Centuries in ODI's are not very common, hence points should be awarded for 50's also as follows:
1. 25 points for scoring a 50.
2. 50 points for 100.

BOWLING:
In ODI's a 5 wicket haul is very rare. Bowler's stats are measured by 4-wicket hauls. Hence the bonus points should awarded for 4 wickets instead of 5 wickets:

  1. 30 bonus points for a 4 wicket haul.

  2. The current system doesn't take into account how economical the bowler was. For example, if Mohd Asif bowls 10 overs and gets 1/30 and Mohd Sami in his 10 overs gets 1/76, then both bowlers get the same points, i.e., 20. This is wrong since we can tell that Asif bowled much much better because he gave away only 30 runs.

To accomodate this situation, here's what we should do: Every bowler is allowed 5 runs per over. If the bowlers concedes less runs, then those runs are added to his points. If he goes for more than 5 runs/over, then his points should be subtracted by the number of runs he went over. In the above example, both Asif and Sami bowled 10 overs, so they were allowed to give 50 runs each. Since Asif gave away only 30 runs, he gets an extra 20 points (50 - 20) for a total of 40 points (20 for the wicket + 20 bonus). Mohd Sami, gets 20 points for his wicket, but also gets -26 points (50 - 76) since he gave away 26 more runs than his quota of 50. So his net points are: 20-26 = - 6.

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

brahmachari99, thanks for suggestions. I guess its about time to upgrade the point system for ODI as per your suggestion so I’ll do it but economy situation is a bit different this is going to be too much work for cheetah, dhobi_bhai and a1kashur (all of these ppl will update the score). They have to sit and update the score for EACH OVER to get economy into account....that’s too much.

May be we will figure out something for world cup. A more comprehensive FC system perhaps :)

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

Actually, all they needed is the TOTAL runs conceded and the TOTAL overs bowled for a bowler. So if a bowler bowls 8 overs and concedes 30 runs then his points would be: (8 x 5 ) - 30 = 10. So this would mean he gets 10 points because he conceded 10 less runs than allowed.

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

D_C can we have one more MOD to update the scores maybe from pak/ind?

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

Right now i have 3 names

you, dhobi_bhai and a1kashur

I my self will try to update the scores as many time as possible

plus i’ll give rights to fkhan2, ehsan bhai and saby also so that anyone of them can update the score when possible.

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

if it is not a difficult task count me as a volunteers :bummer:

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

4 wickets haul suggestion is a good one and I hope its implemented already. DC, do one thing at the end of registeration or before start, update the modified rules in first post so all can keep up :-)

Where is my Kenya 11.

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

After that all the hardwork and luck...its not fair to award no bonus points to the man of the series...after all he gets the grand prize at the end of the series...why not on FC...think about...hmmmmm...

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

Zabardast,

In the last Pak Vs Eng series, I was standing somewhere in the 4th or 5th position, I had removed Younis Khan in the last Test from my fantasy team, though he figured in my earlier tests. However, I find that 75 points were added to the people who had Younis in the Last test and I was pushed down to 8th or 9th spot in the tally table.

So, what if the man of the series is not from the two final team’s, how will you add the points? I think no points for man of the series is Fine, unless asked separately.

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

Oh yeah, I'm the # 2 stunna. LOL

Re: Fantasy Cricket: ICC Champions Trophy

Looking at the points system, am I then right in thinking that it’s better to have an allrounder i.e. a wicket-keeper batsman like Sanga or a batting/bowling all-rounder rather than a pure batsman like Tendu or Lara or a pure bowler like Akhtar or Bond as your trump card as your points for that player will then get doubled.

Have I said the most obvious thing  ?
