EST is 5 hours behind GMT. PST is another 3 hours behind. So looks ok to me.

Your first statement is correct but PST is 5 hours ahead (not behind) of GMT

so time difference between EST and PST is 10 hours or EST–5–GMT–5-- PST = 5+5=10 hours
