Famous Drama and short story writer Mansha Yaad passed away today in Islamabad.
Mansha Yaad is very well known writer of Pakistan who wrote many memorable short stories mainly revolving around the issues of rural Punjab. His drama ‘Raahen’ based on his own Punjabi novel ‘Tawan Tawan Taare’ released in late 90’s became a major hit and one of the classic PTV produced todate. Interestingly, Drama ‘Bandhan’ based on Bushra Rehman’s two novels ‘Butt Shikan’ & ‘Lagan’ was also aired during same quarter in which ‘Raahen’ was telecasted and became a hit and liked by most female viewers.
Mansha Yaad before these two serials dramatised Masood Mufti’s novel ‘Khilonay’ as ‘Junoon’ which was also appreciated by viewers.
Apart from these dramas Mansha Yaad written many short stories which were published from time to time in various literary magazines and then collectively in form of books including ‘Band Muthi main Jugnu’, ‘Maas aur Matti’, ‘Khala ander khala’.
