Famous comedian Jaspal Bhatti has died in a road accident near Jalandhar. Bhatti was going to Nakodar from Bhatinda for the promotion of his upcoming film ‘Power Cut’.
Accident happened on Shahkot area of Jalandhar. Bhatti’s car collided with a truck near Jalandhar. Bhatti’s son and actress of his upcoming film got injured in the mishap. Both the injured have been admitted to the hospital.

On a side note, while I have seen several movies mentioning Bhatinda, I thought it was a fictitious place. Bhatti from Bhatinda.
i don't think so...it's a caste in Sikhism, i believe. The Kaurs may be able to shed some light.

Ha bhai I get that Bhatti represents a caste or group. I was just referring to the coincidence that Bhatti was driving from Bhatinda. What are the odds?

lol..i liked him...he was very sharp and he had his finger on the nerve of what's happening in India and in our society...great satirist!

Didn't know his name but saw him in a number of films, he was good. One of his dialogues that I still remember from some movie - "Shadi se pehle mujhe apni biwi pe itna pyar ata tha k mera dil karta tha usko kha jaun. Shadi k baad socha kha he gaya hota tau acha hota!*
