Voters in Haripur have defeated family politics, ayub and zaman families wanted Pti candidate to win. PMLN’s candidate might be a crook, but he didn’t belong to the two clans who have been ruling Haripur for decades. Change has indeed come not exactly as how Pti would have wanted it though.
In the previous elections there was a nail biting finish in this constituency. This time PMLN has hammered Pti with around 30000 lead, this in KPK. This shows that you can fool people on slogans for so long. All that imran khan stood for prior to previous elections seem to be all slogans now. Family politics while his wife is campaigning in by elections instead of him, VIP culture which one can easily see during his wife’s movements. IK promised real opposition, not sure how many bills Pti has presented in the assemblies and on which issues the party has stood with the people? If we consider Pti to be a traditional political party, we need to see the comparison of Punjab and KPK. Why exactly should people vote for the party? What differentiates this party from others?
IK have to put his act together and come out of the "castles-in-the-air". It is not that difficult... He need to prove hus ability...right now his advisers (the 4 ka tola) are telling him that the skch peshawar can alone win him next elections... Well what to say... He obliged to them in NA 1 peshawar, in mianwali and lost it for good... They got him after the rigging thing and he saw the unmatched humility...ti rub salt on hid wounds, bio-matric polls were conducted and he was not even close to claim it his achievement...
Still he need to pad up and play captain's knock, fire the entire kpk govt and get new cm and cabinet, present workable bills to eliminate corruption and nepotism and control bureaucracy... Put up tax and land reforms bills... There is lot he can do but his advisers havw told him to stay out of assembly for good...
IK's governance has extremely disappointed many including me. Where people had some hope for a better future PTI falls into just another party category.
He needs to change or its game over. Pashtuns are friendly, fiercely loyal but if you don't keep your word they can be your worst nightmare.
(KPK)
2013- PTI
2008-ANP
2002-MMeA
The point is either do your job or next election you're out. And that is how it should be.

Big blow for PTI, losing to 2nd string PML-N candidate with such big margin in their own KPK constituency speaks volume that PTI is not focusing on KPK....PTI has lost its credibility to some extent, honeymoon is over. They must plan their strategies and bring Justice Wajihuddin back in their fold

The only thing that can save Pti now is blunders by PMLN and local government systems (properly functioning) otherwise it's all curtains. If PMLN is able to build CPEC before the next elections Pti would be history.

yea right...IK will do all this? :) i doubt he will get rid of a useless person like pervaiz khatak
what he did? he kicked Justice Wajihuddin who was making sane recommendations.
The next elections were always about performance. I won't be surprised if IK miscalculated public sentiments, otherwise there's no difference in slogans of roti, kapra makaan and naya Pakistan. There were only two things that were required of him, perform in KPK and play the role of an effective opposition. Pti is no where to be seen in public matters of interest. In democracies you make up your constituencies on your policies, pri tried to live on slogans which also feel hollow now.
Definitely this was a big loss for PTI as compared to Punjab Bye elections or NA246. In 2013 elections PTI lost this with a slight margin but now the gaps is massive so definitely alarm bells for KPK gov and PTI.
I don't agree with defeat to family politics and all that though, it would have made some sense if Reham Khan had contested the election or even her close family or relatives was awarded the ticket. If the opponent openly admits he belongs to family of dacoits and is biggest badmaash and even PMLN leaders had accused him of murders in the past then this sort of person should have never won regardless of party affiliation but that's what Pakistan politics is all about.
Also i heard that PTI candidate met ASWJ reps for support and if that's true then I am happy that he lost.

ASWJ was supporting PTI candidate. The margin of defeat suggests that the people went out to vent their anger against Pti, in that case choice of candidate does not matter. If PMLN can deliver motorway to hazara, next elections is there. Maybe roads and infrastructure might not be in pti's horizon but these things do shape up public opinion. If Imran Khan thinks that charisma and slogans alone would win him elections, he is mistaken. Usually sitting governments lose support due to voter fatigue, in pti's case it's the opposite.

Yes , the people also remember , one billion trees , 350 dams , corruption free government and end of VIP culture and than they see Reham and her protocol with her rickshaw KPK government hele
Its a misleading title. It was a contest b/w two parties and one was elected, one rejected. Switch the candidates b/w both and PML(N) would still have won. First political campaign of Mrs. Imran Khan failed and the misery of PTI continue..

agreed...voters selected PMLN and rejected PTI.
'
and lets be intellectually honest.....PTI did not lose because of reham. PTI supporters are simply using this as an excuse..so had reham not appeared for a speech, PTI would have won? yeah right! ....
yes reham appearance did not help for sure and her speech was useless but the margin of defeat is so big...PTI shd focus on analyzing real reasons behind this deafeat
and it reminds me Aus-India semi final earlier this year................
Indian fans are just Like PTIans...never accept the defeat and come up with crazy excuses...and apparently india lost that match coz poor anushka shamra (kohli's gf) came to watch the game and kohli could-not focus!
