In my own family, I guess we are more Americanized so we are really blunt with each other. So even if we have a big argument it is done within the same day. If it is a really big thing, then it's all about silent treatment lol.

I think families in Pakistan are more in each other's face more often so there is more potential for problems. Also they think it is a ego ka musla if they apologize or back down.

sisterinlaw vs. my mom-calling my mom bengali because she has relatives from bihar
mamoo vs my mom-mamoo took thousands of dollars from mom to develop her property (which is next to his) then she found out he was using the money for his own plot and he is planning to take over my mom's plot.

Going to Pak is really stressful sometimes cuz I would be talking all friendly to some cousin and later on someone would tell me, "tumhe nahin pata iskay nanay nay humare nana ko mukka mara tha?"...how am i supposed to keep track of that junk?
