Family Photo Sessions!

first, here’s a great deal i found through a friend’s FB link for toronto/gta area parents: Introducing: Fall Mini Sessions! » Andrew Mark Photography

but speaking of, i’ve always wanted to do one with the kid and the husband. i regret not doing one when he was a newborn or 6 months old - some of them are SO cute - but i really want to do one now before he’s all growed up. sniff. happens too fast!

have you, or would you have done, a professional family photo session? whom would you ask to be a part of it? i’m wondering if it should just be the husband and i, or if the grandparents and mamo/mami should be invited too.

and here’s some cuteness: that last picture kills me! Newborn Twin Brothers {Yonkers Newborn Photographer}- Yonkers, NY » Photography by Asiya- NJ Newborn Photography

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

i always wanted to do this and I tried finding out about this kind of photography. I don't live in GTA.. so yeah where I live... it was very expensive so I gave up on the idea :(

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

Iwas hell bent on getting em done. It was very expensive (what isnt where i live  )… But i was very sure of it.. So at 2 months we got one done with midget… Him alone and with us…

Then at 6 months i got anoyher shoot done whilst visiting arabia…in the traditional gear…that was one of the best shoots ever! This was just him. (u can chk it out on my fb page : )

Genie came along and this time i wanted the baby sleeping in palm kinda thing..u gotta get that done when the baby is still a newborn…so we had that shoot done when she was 2 weeks… Included my mom in the family pic cuz she was visiting and gave her that shot in a cute frame as a thank u giftfor helping us out so much.

Just tecently had another photoshoot done with genie being 1 and midget 3… Both kids together and with the maternal grandparents (yup, was cisiting arabia again :hehe: )… Man the pics came out so ultra cute!

I really wanted to capture their babyness so had all the shoots done when i did… And im glad i did… Worth it!

Usually the more ppl in the shot, the pricier it gets… So if u dont want it to be too expensive…just get a shoot done with baby.

We will be getting another shoot done with the paternal grandparents soon… But it may not be a whole series this time… With he way mil is…it may just be a pic taken at the general pic shop.

U could include anyone…but u dont havta..its not anyone’s business tbh. It could be just him, u guys, the grandparents… Anyone u wanna include… Its not farz that u include everyone norshould anyone mind for not being included…

P.s) HOW did u NOT get a photoshoot of him as a baby…HOW?! Have u seen your baby!!! thats cuteness and bubbles just wasted right there. Tsk tsk! Get one done soon man… He is too handsome to Not have his good looks captured n film.

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

Oh and its a great idea to have add a photshoot session as a gift on a babyshower registery u may have.... Or ask a good friend or hrandparents etc someone that will be giving a big ticket item..if they would be willing to give that as a gift.. Cuz it really is expensive in most places..

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

sgc please get your baby's photoshoot done! he's so cute mashaAllah mashaAllah!!!

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

We had one done as a newborn,.it was hubby, myself, my mom, and the baby. It was expensive and I wasn't satisfied with the results..my husband does a better job at home..so may be one day we will just do it at home again!

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

oh khawa, i might not have done one professionally of the kid, but i took lots and lots pictures of him on my own the first year! i took a picture of him on the 10th of each month, since he was born on the 10th, and i'm planning to compile them into a coffee table book at some point.
but also, i really wanted to but mr. tall cdn edition kept vetoing it. doh! men! they just dont get it.

Family Photo Sessions!

^ SGC I do the same with mine but I take a pic on every 2nd hehe

We had a shoot done few weeks ago, she looked so cute I wanted to buy them all. We changed her outfits too. We also had a family one done too. So worth it!

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

I always wanted to have a professional family photoshoot done. Not the ones in a studio though! Hubby thinks it’s a waste of money :smack: But next year, when baby is around 5-6 months I’m planning on getting one of these done. I feel like it’s worth it.

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

More than me,my husband always wanted to do one when we had our daughter. We had one for her at the hospital. It was cute but nothing fancy.
Like others I took a million pictures in the first year and got about 1000 of them printed…()..I used to dress her up on the 4th of every month and take a monthly-birthday picture..:hehe:.

I would love to do professional pictures even now.But I wouldn’t want them in a studio setting,I’d prefer some outdoorsy location with fall foliage in the background (actually now is the perfect time with all the fall colors),something a little on the casual side..!

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

nope. We had one for the girls when they were younger.

hubby is so not into these things. It would take days to convince him and I don’t have that kinda time :snooty:

We take lots of pics of the girls where they are and what they are doing. We enjoy watching those family pics years later.

My friend had them done all of them were in jeans and white shirt and they were all outdoor shots. Came out amazing.

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

I love the whole “white shirt and denims” theme that a lot of folks do.
I know it’s kinda overdone but I still think it looks so clean and fresh…and so very, very easy to do on your own with a simple automatic camera and a tripod.

here’s an example:

Re: Family Photo Sessions!

soooo cute. My sister has some family portraits lined up.
