Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

to yeh hay sahih tiriqa:)

How people have created innovative methods to convert black money into white and not to pay taxes. The valuation should be done by independent evaluators. I think Wasim Akhtar’s palace in De fence Socieity is more than 100 millions. These parhay likhay middul class se sub ko sabaq lena chaaieay.

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

Their assets should be checked for last 15-20 years and then investigated how they rose from middle class to upper-middle/rich class.

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

They all much inspired by Zardari team tech.passed that showing result now(^ー゜)

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

Well - if all of this is declared and people who own it , pays tax on it - then it shouldn’t be a problem … you can’t compare it to the wealth looted and hid in swiss bank accounts.

Secondly , I bet all of this is declared stuff , cause many of them are way richer then these figures . Personally I think Waseem Akhthar is much richer then what these quoted figure shows.

And finally , in case of sufyan Yousuf , As we both live in the same block , I can tell you few things for sure :

a) The house price in our area is some where from 15 to 25 million
b) his family lives here from last 40 years or more - so it is not like he made it after joining Politics** .

P.S : This list must is a fib or bit old - let me tell you why …
**
like in case of Farooq sattar , 300 grams valued at 75,000 RS , darling 100 grams is what like 47,000 RS now … and any one who lives in karachi knows … 0.8 million or 0.63 million mein aj kaal ek two bedrooms flat nahii atah … on average a two bedrooms flat in central zone cost you around** 2.5 to 3.5 million RS easily .

**You cant even get a new Alto 1,000 CC car in 0.63 million RS … which is what around 630K

Sachaydino or who ever made this list , has added the word ’ Million ’ in the sense of US dollars I bet and just to cause the sensation people get when they read the word Million … a damn million … very pathetic attempt … I must tell ya

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

Sachaydino: I do not know what the reporter is trying to crow about other than propaganda?

Anyhow, report is talking about middleclass karachiets and millionaires in rupees, not in dollars. So, what is big deal? If you pick up 13 random middleclass karachiets from Karachi, you will find them also holding this much assets if not more.

From the report you posted, total assets of 13 mentioned members come to ~ $2.68 million US dollars. If one take out assets of Farhat Khan who has business in USA, the amount of 12 remaining members reduces to $1.9 million US dollars.

This much Zardari steals in his morning breakfast everyday of the week. For Gillani, it would be a lunch treat on bad day.

Just imagine, Zardari has stolen billions of dollars not billion of rupees, and here you are talking about not even million dollars. Karachi is a rich city and for middle class Karachiets to own even million dollars is not big deal.

At present, Zardari with the help of Gillani is trying to save part of his stolen money in Swiss Banks, and even that is more than $60 million US dollars (or more than 30 times what 12 MQM members have that they saved or inherited over years).

Actually, I am in no party neither held any political seat ever, still I have assets more than anyone of those 13 mentioned and I consider myself middle class Pakistani ... so what is big deal you and the reporter of the article is trying to bring out?

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

Exactly!

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

This is a pathetic attempt to defend MQM corruption while criticising other parties. :cb:

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

This is "declared" wealth according to their "own" estimates!

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

^ If there are “undeclared” wealth according to “your” estimates then do put it forward.
Nonsense.

One needs an unbiased unprejudiced mind to see that other politicians have MILLION MORE than MQM people. And their wives/sons/daughters have EVEN MORE assets than those politicians themselves.

Politicians declare assets:
Politicians declare assets: ‘Gilani, Shahbaz own no cars purchased by themselves’

**ISLAMABAD: ** The annual declaration of assets and liabilities to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) shows that the net worth of assets belonging to both Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani have increased.

Shahbaz’s assets witnessed a tremendous increase of over 100% during the financial year 2011-12.
While the net worth of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s own assets crossed the Rs20 million mark for the first time this year, the assets declared by one of his sons, Abdul Kadir Gilani, a member of the Punjab Assembly, are much more than the premier’s himself.

On the other hand, Shahbaz in his annual declaration stated that the total worth of his assets now stands at Rs210.4 million. For the fiscal 2010-11 he had declared that the total worth of his assets and liabilities was Rs94.3 million only.

Still, the declared value of his own assets is less than the values of assets he declared for one of his wives, Nusrat Shahbaz – a housewife.

Shahbaz owns only one vehicle according to the form, and this too was a gift – a Land Cruiser.
Hamza Shahbaz, son and political heir of Shahbaz Sharif, declared that the total worth of his own assets and liabilities stand at Rs213.7 million while his wife Mehrunissah Hamza owns assets worth only Rs2.5 million. Hamza, however, left the column pertaining to vehicle ownership vacant.
Meanwhile, according to the prime minister’s declaration, the only business transaction he had during the whole year was the purchase of three acres of agriculture land in Hamidpur Kanora, in his native town Multan, priced at Rs4.8 million. The premier claimed that he purchased this land out of savings and cash in hand.
Despite having a fleet of official vehicles used for his protocol, PM Gilani is among those political leaders of the country who do not have a car of their own, according to his assets declaration.
Under the law, lawmakers are required to submit the statement of assets of their spouses and dependent members of the family. However, the premier avoided making the assets of his spouse public for the first time since he took up his office.
Ali Musa Gilani, the prime minister’s younger son who is currently facing corruption charges, did not have to declare his assets as he has been in office as an MNA for less than a year.
Eldest son Abdul Kadir Gilani, on the other hand, who is a member of the Punjab Assembly, has assets worth millions of rupees. Though he did not count the total worth of his assets, he has mentioned the value of some of his properties where their purchasing cost and present value are exactly the same, raising question marks as to when they were purchased.
Besides other properties and vehicles, he owns an imported bulletproof vehicle which according to his declaration is valued at Rs12.8 million.
Other politicians
Noor Alam Khan, a PPP member of the National Assembly from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is apparently the richest parliamentarian in the country who declared that his assets are worth over Rs32 billion – thanks to the appreciation of value of his ancestral land in prime locations of Peshawar.
Other billionaires in the lower house of the parliament include Mehboobullah Jan (PPP), Shahid Khaqan Abbasi (PML-N) and Jehangir Khan Tareen (PTI).
Usually, members either do not declare their real assets or they undervalue their assets. Under the law, ECP annually publishes the assets of all the members of Senate as well as the national and provincial assemblies but it has no mechanism to counter-check the details provided by these lawmakers.
The net worth of assets of some other leading National Assembly members are:** Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmed Bilour Rs1.7 billion, ANP Chairman Asfandyar Wali Khan Rs32 million, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar Rs14 million, Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar Rs32 million, Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira Rs20 million, Federal Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan Rs46 million, Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar Rs51 million, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Rs50 million and Faryal Talpur Rs116 million.**

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

I could only be a jiyala to have guts to talk about corruption of others when he himself defends a president whose corruption has become a folklore in Pakistan. :)

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

and how did you get the impression that I am trying to defend MQM corruption … I have only outlined the flaws in this moronic report …

for example it says ‘’ Abdul Rasheed Godil has a Rs50,000 business ‘’ … And if … and that’s a big bloody IF , You eggheads know the ground realities .. you would knew that … you cant even open a Ban kabab stall in RS 50,000 in this city …

for running a rickshaw on street , you atleast need to have 130 k , which is the unit price of motor bike Rickshaw in this city …

so atleast speak some sense - when you are reporting some body’s ‘’ Corruption ‘’

This report doesnt speak about Babar Ghori - who has major shares in many shopping malls , new construction projects running in this city .. And that guy is a bloody billionaire for sure

so atleast get your FACTS right !

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

Open your eyes wide open and read my comments before making such biased statement !

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

You haven't seen the bold part I mentioned. Why these middul class rich are because of their biwi and saas? What about susar? So you are saying their sass are rich but susar are pauper? Justifying battakhori, converting batta money into gold of biwi and saas is quite intelligent and imaginative. How You guys criticize others for corruption? As I always say, pehlay apnay greban main jhanko phir throw stones on others. But it is not your fault, this is kind of universal doctrine "holier than though" for all Pakis.

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

I hope this reporter will not be killed by mqm goons.

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

What an irony that we hear about corruption of others from jiyalas! :rotfl:

Shouldn’t we start first from the top where convicted people are sitting cozily in power? Cases against others take time and effort and frankly who would pursue them when convicts can openly flout the law?

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

Read the thread I just opened regarding convicted rhetoric. This thread is for mqm’s corruption. stick to that or yalla, yalla.

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

It's easy for parliamentary members to pass the wealth to their family members to cloak themselves.

As for the paid MQM members bringing in Zardari and other politicians, atleast Zardari and the others dont go around claiming they are 'middul claaaas wurking maambur of paaarliyiaament'. The report has no mention of Fat Babur Ghauri who is now considered one of the richest people in the country thanks to the endless embezzlement on his part.

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

If MQM guys are corrupt, it is government's responsibility to convict them. But then, they are allied with the government. ooppsss....

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

But they go around claiming that they are jaddi pushti khaandani ameer which is no way better.

Re: Family members own assets of most Muttahida MNAs

Who are the people you are calling “paid” MQM members? Why is it that racism only make some abuse MQM alone, but the same bigots never called anyone else a “paid” member of any other party?
How racism and prejudice make people a bigot.

It is not necessary for every member of a party to come from middle class in MQM. Khushbakht Shujaat already well-to-do before she joined MQM.

And if some people blinded by hatred against Urdu speakers are paying attention then** even CJ appreciated MQM **for bringing "middull kilaas maambur of parliaamnt" ← That’s Spock speaking.

MQM brings common man in election: Chief Justice

Islamabad: Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Monday remarked that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was a party, which brought the common man to the forefront in elections. While hearing a case pertaining to election campaign expenditures, the CJ remarked that the MQM members did not even have a car adding that the Karachi based party ensured the common man’s participation in elections. The CJ observed that campaign expenditures were even less than one million.

So Spock, is CJ being “paid” by MQM too?
tsk tsk tsk.

Funny part is Shahbaz mian who DOUBLED his declared wealth in a YEAR! Now that’s the kind of people Pakistanis deserve and that’s why Pakistan is in a hole.
