**ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has decided to distance himself from the case pertaining to the financial impropriety scandal against his son Dr Arslan Iftikhar, Express News reported on Thrusday.**As the financial impropriety scandal hearing began in the Supreme Court, Attorney General (AG) Irfan Qadir, once again objected to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s inclusion in the three-member bench to hear his own son’s case.
The chief justice, however, chose not to put much emphasis on the attorney general’s comments and proceeded with the hearing but later decided to quit the bench.
“The Quran says you are responsible for your own actions, not your children’s,” the chief justice said.
“We have faith and we believe in Allah,” added Justice Chaudhry.

It appears that this government has no involvement and has no intention to defame CJ. Such job can only be done by fearless agencies which are above any accountability. Many retired army officers including a senior officer of ISI are working under Riaz Malik. Involvement of ISI is highly likely to intimidate or scare CJ on missing persons cases by the ISI. In past it was the army general who suspended and humiliated him put under house arrest for many months because of CJ's interest in missing persons. I think he forgot that army is not Gilani or Zardari.
After saying this, however he and his son should have been vigilant by not involving any scandal which can prove detrimental to highest judicial institution of Pakistan. He should resign to save his face and the institution. He is still sitting CJ can easily influence the sitting bench who is now investigating this corruption.

Pasha sahib this JAHIL awaam does NOT understand a simple thing that Imran has been divorced and his children are living with his ex wife in London. It is important for him to spend some time with children and that is what he is doing in their school holidays. I hope being a grown up man, you undrestand this even if these kids don't :)
On the topic, great decision by CJ, i was surprised initially but was confident that he will not be part of the panel for this case.
I hope the case can finish as soon as possible so we can concentrate REAL problems of Pakistan (Although malik Riaz himself is quite a massive problem).

According to Kamran Khan, bachoongrha of CJ was blackmailing Malik Riaz to extort money from him. If this is true, it means that he was also involved in ghunda gardi and badmaashi. I don’t understand why CJ, bachoongrhay ke itne nakhre uthata raha tha. us ko doctor se badmaash corrupt police wala banada dya. Responsibility lies with CJ. As I said many times and saying again that he should resign if he really concern about the dignity and respect the highest judicial institution of Pakistan.

He helped them with money to elect a # of parliamentarians in the assemblies Shame on people who are singing the songs of corrupt N$ and his PML(N). First of all, Ansar Abbasi is a liar and one should always read his stories with pinch of salt. Anyhow … assuming that what Ansar Abbasi is writing is true than Malik Riaz looks an idiot:

1: How Riaz know that Iftikhar Chaudhari did not knew about Arsalan taking bribe on CJ’s behalf. Well, if Iftikhar did not knew and Riaz also knew about Iftikhar did not knew then why Riaz was bribing Arsalan continuously for 3 years, and not with few million but with Rs 400 million? Obviously, Riaz bribe to Arsalan was not for Arsalan to enjoy, rather Iftikhar get that bribe and give relief to his cases.
2: How Riaz can say that Iftikhar did not knew that Arsalan was taking bribe on behalf of Iftikhar, but Iftikhar family may know all this?
Actually, important question arises is that if Malik Riaz thinks Iftikhar Chaudhari did not knew that Arsalan was taking bribes from him on behalf of Iftikhar so that Iftikhar sorts out cases against Malik Riaz, then why Malik Riaz was paying money and spending on Arsalan Iftikhar continuously for around 3 years, not few millions but around Rs 400 millions, as Arsalan iftikhar on his own right is/was an useless thug and what ever Mialik Riaz was giving/spending on Arsalan it was payment to Iftikhar Chaudhari.
Arsalan blackmailing Riaz is one big ridiculous claim. How can Arsalan blackmail Riaz when he could not have done anything to harm Malik Riaz?
Though it is unbelievable, anyhow, if Malik Riaz kept spending money on Arsalan Iftikhar for 3 years continuously, and spent on Arsalan around Rs 400 million without even knowing that Iftikhar Chaudhari knew about Arsalan taking bribe on behalf of Iftikhar, then I think Malik Riaz is a big idiot and it is surprising that he became such a big Tycoon not by just hard work and running successful business, but due to illegal means and bribing others (that means, he knows game of bribing and could not have bribed Arsalan without knowing about where the money is going).
Thus, I believe that … all bribes given to Arsalan were well judged bribes and Malik Riaz must be knowing (or had such belief) that bribes is reaching right place (that is to Iftikhar Chaudhari).
In my opinion, Iftikhar knew about all those bribes Arsalan was taking on his behalf. Maybe, SC going easy on Zardari and Gillani, especially Gillani’s contempt of court cases and Zardari immunity case, is result of all those bribes. It is also possible that cases against Malik Riaz is pending in courts so that Iftikhar can keep milking Malik Riaz through Arsalan.
Now, when things came out in media and became an hot topic, Iftikhar took steps to do damage control.

If it is still there then why it is there. Why not SC take appropriate decision and punish him? Who knows, the cases are still pending so that Malik Riaz could stay under pressure and can be milked through Arsalan.
You are right that people like Malik Riaz should get exposed ... but what exposed? All know what this guy is ... corrupt and uses bribe to buy people, even institutions. To punish such people, we need independent bureaucracy, judiciary and especially a very strong institution of accountability independent from all political pressures or political control (it could be NAB or whatever ... but completely independent institution in every respect).

Every one should be exposed, as this mafia can buy off anyone and for foreigners it's easier to buy this one person and achieve their agendas in the country. Not too long ago he was being considered as a president and prime minister candidate, for him it's more feasible to stay in the background and pull strings.
