Family Feeding Baby Things You're Not Sure Of...

Sooooo…I know this topic has come up before but…you know…just to see what people think…

How do you guys feel about family feeding your baby things you haven’t fed them yet?

Like my mom will always find something to feed my son that I haven’t fed him yet…yesterday it was zafraan in his milk. One day it was sabudanay ka paani. Another day it was something else.

An aunt gave my nephew pop once when he was only 7 months old…that did not go too well with my sister.

And my husband loves to give him lollipops.

Thoughts?

Half boil egg
Mango pulp
Rusk Cake dipped in chai… :hehe: but before giving you need to make sure softness of dipped rusk
Finger dip in salan, and introduce small amount of it.

Sabodana or sagodan.. is also good.

As long as it isnt unhealthy, like lollies and soda lol, id say relax.

If it bothers you, just gonna havta stop em from.doing so and become the bad guy... but it is worth it cuz it is your baby.

I personally didnt care. My parents werent loco and hey, they did raise us 4 siblings... so i trusted em.
But if you know someone to be irresponsible, then watch like a hawk by all means.

Btw sabaut dana is very healthy and is considered a first food, so thats ok.

Saffron water is also really good if a child has a cold. I think your ma knows what she is doing

Yah lay off the soda/suckers.

I don’t stop my parents from giving my kids anything. Even though my dad was the one who introduced McDonald’s fries in our household to the girls :smack: But it their form of love so I let them. But I did make a stand on not giving the kids ‘sugar’ when there is a ‘cough’ I AM NOT OK with that.

Mind you my parents have been bringing me watermelon/strawberries/mangoes and cherries all summer, so it evens out :hehe:

Don't totally bar them, but just draw the line with certain foods like soda etc. Unless you live under the same roof as grandparents or near them, chances are your little one is not gonna see grandparents that often. That said, even that soda or candy or fries indulgence won't be a frequent thing. But if it still makes you uneasy, then let em know. I see the grandparents and aunts n uncles feeding a child as an act of love and bonding; it creates memories too. Some degree of laxity is good and necessary cuz let's face it even parents will occasionally bend the rules.
