Re: Family Drama and Desi Culture
Not really.
Bosworth Hall Hotel wedding descends into chaos after fight | Daily Mail Online
Add 1000 wedding guests to any culture’s wedding and you will have some drama.
Re: Family Drama and Desi Culture
Now a days most of people in my family getting married at their own risk. No family involvement but like a guest. But i love this tradition when families meet with each other then say oh Aap Kay Dada Kay Chacha Kay Baitay Mairi Ammi Kay Nandoi Thay. So its just good thing and i simply love this one. But I know people who don’t have moral value refusing to getting married their cousins even breaking engagement coz they like their colleague or class fellow and spent a separate life.
Family involvement is important only in some families but most of the people allowing their kids to getting married by themselves so no blame will come on them.

Exactly
Re: Family Drama and Desi Culture
Desi still care for 'log kiya kahen ge' and therefore they create dramas intentionally as well as unintentionally (due to society pressure). Like someone didn't attend a wedding in my family and later he / she invited me, I'll feel tempted to reject the invitation to equal the score.
me = desis... There are exceptions like me (myself) :D
