LAHORE: Three people including two girls died when a family of five consumed toxic pills in an attempt to commit suicide on Wednesday in the Shahpur area of Lahore.
Sources said that 40-year-old rickshaw driver Akbar took poisonous pills along with his wife and three daughters due to poverty.
They were shifted to Jinnah Hospital where Akbar, 10-year-old Nazia and six-year-old were pronounced died while mother Muzamil and 14-year-old Beenish survived.
Muzamil told DawnNews that they were upset because of financial difficulties and rising inflation and yesterday they had a quarrel over the issue after which they collectively decided to commit suicide.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif visited the family at Jinnah Hospital and expressed his regret over the incident.
He announced one million rupees compensation for the family and said the Punjab government will bear all the expenses of education for the surviving child. — DawnNews

^^ Govt and common man like us are equally responsible for this murder... we have killed these innocents and no body but we are to be blamed and then we think that Allah All Mighty shall have his mercy on us...

In Islam, it is mandatory for people to take care of their neighbors, to help poor to help deserving... but we only see what out neighbor is doing so that we can gossip, we only help them when they commit something like this and most of the time we do it to show-off...

Important question to be asked by us, the drawing-room-warriors, how many of us help their relatives, neighbors and/or other poor and deserving people we know??

Most importantly, when it matters ( voting time) we go and vote for Zardaries and Sharifs, thinking that they will reduce poverty.. we have tried that again and again and yet he are not ready to learn... this is the out come... people are forced to kill their beloved children and commit suicide

Congrats to the Govt and the People of Pakistan for reducing poverty from Pakistan...

the girl named Beenish, who survived earlier, passed away today in the morning.. inna lillahe wa'inna elaihi rajeun..

As much as I would like to agree, I will disagree with you. Islam teaches to take care of neighbors but it also teaches individuals to be content, teaches people to trust in Allah. When someone commits suicide it means they stopped trusting Allah.

I've just been to Pakistan.... came back last week and to be honest what i've seen there (Lahore, Sialkot and Sargodha) left me bewildered. I must emphasize i've been to pakistan 6 times in the Last 10 Years. The difference between the Rich and the Poor has risen to a never-before level and mind u the media is playing its part.

How often in the news u c some politicians from party xyz clain this and politicians from party abc claiming the opposite and the media is busy keeping their verbal war alive ..... how many programs u c on Politics and how many of them r adressing the root cause of the load of Problems that the poor face on daily basis.

U c a lot Politicians siding with the poor on TV-Screen but how many of them do it in reality and advise their respective Party-Resources to do like wise.

I don't mean a simple gesture here or there but to turn fortunes of thousands of families not just by feeding them but providing a stable social basis so PPL can thrive to develope themself und thus the society into something better

My opinion on that is: If (living in western countries, mid-east) u can afford to support someone or even a Family then better help them to set-up some small business so they can live on their own. Just help them as long as they can't stand on their feet but move/work them towards independance. that's my experience sofar.

yea another girl died. shame on government. they are all selfish.

At Kyrgzistan,When the coup took place, the embassy should have done reiki and took their residents out. They should be doing continuous monitoring. Pakistan has so many people there, one of them who was martyred (Ali Raza) . Pakistani foreign minister Shah M,ahmood Kureshi said that pakistan was the first one to take ts citizens out of Kyrgzistan, which is a lie i think, because media reported that Turkey and one other country had already flee their citizens for there. They are still not been able to capture Ms. Bhutto's murderers, although its their government, so what else they think they will successfully do ,,,,,,,,,, a rickshaw driver did suicide with his 3 daughters and wife in lahore, and what happened to their naara >>> roti, kapra aur makaan, Omar(RA) said if a dog dies near the River Faraat, Omar(RA) would be responsible for it, on the day of judgement, Omar (RA)would be answerable for it <<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>basically its the bhuttos party, ab wo he nai rahay tou un k rules kon follow karay ga,,, we need a new party ,,,,,,,,
