Gayatri Mantra… There was a time that due to Ekta Kapoor (Tilak wali aunty), I memorised half of the gaytri mantra..

BTW, was not marrying with cousins, always part of Hindu / Sikh religion or it developed with the time, like development of Shakahari (Vegetarianism)

All people of father side will get same gotra, so one cannot marry grandfather’s brother’ family member, as they will have same gotra, but one can marry in father’s sister’s family as her children will have same gotra, but most of the time it is avoided because of same bloodline:), This system was since begining as it was system of sub-tribe and all people of sub-tribe are brothers and sisters.
