Assalaamu 'alaikum,
I’m not sure if this was the appropriate forum to post this thread, as it also has a political element.
I’ve never understood why people in Pakistan get so wound up and emotional over politics. It’s almost become a part of culture to ridicule a new leader or the government whenever a new one is appointed into office. Not just upon entry, but throughout its term in power it’s being verbally attacked.
Many families are splitting and feuding as a result. Relationships, generations long, are falling to peices as relatives take up a campaign of back biting and slander against one another.
Maybe someone can explain these emotions? Have these attitudes always existed in the sub-continent? Or was respect and tolerance a cost of partition?
kindest regards,
W’salaam
