"Familiarity Breeds Contempt"

What does this phrase mean for you? I think there is a lot of wisdom in it. The more you put yourself out there, the more you are generally taken for granted in almost any instance. Your views? Does it ever pay to be familiar?

Of course it does. And you know that. It's one of those things where there are both pros and cons to it. Even being selfish sometimes can be a good thing. While sometimes familiarity can turn people off to a person...other times it's the SAME familiarity that brings about more tolerance, unity, support, etc.
