^ yayy me is a published author ... redvelvet start doing research and soon enough u'll be published too ... i wrote 4 conference paper on some very stupid boring and dryyy stuff ... but yeah tahts the easiest way to get published

I'd like to be a children's author. So, it's more leisure reading as opposed to academic. I've already started the research process.......Yikes there's so much that needs to be done, and so many variations in requirements to sort through. But, if you have any advice or tips, I'd really appreciate it :)

Children's author? Oh wow. My husband is also trying to complete a series of stories for under 10's.

He should finish the entire manuscript (story/stories) first....and then work on a cover letter/query letter. Then.....he should start his research on literary agents and publishing companies that are interested in books for children. It's a time consuming process but not impossible. I wish him the best and hope that he finds a good publishing house for his book:)

Rich and famous life is not all glory! Depends on what kind of fame.
Michael Jackson lived only 50 years, left his assets to someone else. Many more examples we all know very well.
Happiness, being able to provide to family, being able to help others, live a comfortable life in retirement, being thankful for what one has should be enough.
A 70 year old 'nobody' who has reasonable health, grand kids to enjoy and respect from his family is still better off than young rich and famous living a stressful life.
Now, being famous in a good way and good work is something one can hope.
Everyone has their opinion but i feel if you are confident of your work then you dnt fear criticism rather take it by stride

Thanks for the tips Red. He's making the illustrations as well so that's why it's taking long but inshallah one day. :D

i wanna be rich but not famous, i like my private life :D
I was close but it never happened.
My goal was never to become famous it was to test my own potential. And the fun I had doing it.
Its like ,you dream about things then you try to reach there.
To me If EVEN I am not on they way of becoming famous BUT there is nothing stopping me from working on the things I want to.
I don't see any difference between my life as a potential famous or potential anonymous person.
TV and coverage don't make us happy, its our personal bond with family loved ones which does it.
And ability to dream and courage to follow what make us awfully happy.

I want to become a great violinist....lolz. I know I will learn to play few tunes but there are very few chances of making my own music. I'm a self learner so that reduces the chances even more but I often dream of playing in front of huge audience.

if u like playing violin, why don`t u, just get a gig where ever you can and start playing, i love playing guitar and singing in my horrible voice so i do jam sessions in my basement or at my buddies place and we do 2-3 hours of songs and sometimes it turns out really good :k:
ask me what did I do that stop me from a life which was eventually going turn into disaster.
let me learn my flamenco guitar I will your butt then.
