What is Faluda?
I had a boat load of faluda when I went to pakistan last year. Faluda basically is like spagetti. Its real charm is when you try it with sharbaat.
They sell these drinks, also called faluda, all over karachi. Its made of Rooh Afzah, faluda, abbu dana, some fruits and crushed ice...and you drink it with a spoon straw. This drink is, as they say, THE BOMB!!
If you guys haven;t tried it, DO IT!!!

Ab jab yeh thread khul gai hai to yahan DESI DRINKS ki recipes ki requests ki ijazat milni chahiye, mera matlab hai ke fazool mein aur dhaage uljhane ki kya zaroorat hai, hai na.
Mujhe Shikanjavi (Spelling??) ki recipe mil saqti hai, main ne is ki shakal dekhi hui hai magar, peene ki himmat kabhi nahin hui, so pleeease.
btw. Hamare drinks hain kon kon se??

What an excellent subject...especially with summer on it's way.
How many of you have had rooh-afza in water with crushed ice and watermelon? Perfect for a hot day!
Let's see how many recipes we can come up with for drinks....

Shikanjavi is nothing more than lemonade but it is lot more than that.
There are two types sweet and salty.
The sweet one includes squeezing one lemon in one litre of water. Mixing the required amount of sugar. Then adding crushed ice to it and of course drinking it. Some people try to be fancy - they filter the drink with a strainer to remove the lemon soilds.
The salty one is squeezing one lemon in one litre of water. Then add sugar and black pepper to it, once again the amount depends upon your liking. Trial and error will make it perfect. Add crushed ice to the mix and enjoy on a hot summer day.
Hope it will bring some sweet memories.
