does religion play that big of a role in befriending someone?
Degas, I am trying to understand why does it burn you people so much when someone says that they are muslim and are following their prophet, wihou ever saying a bad thing about your prophet? Why does it eat at your being?
I am not Judging the scripture but your interpretation of those scriptures in the current climate. It is because of that erroneos interpretation or application of those scriptures that people in this very thread go about professing rationale for killing people.
Just as there are 1 million who you think are wrong, there is no reason why 1 billion cannot be wrong according to the 5 billion other people on this earth. That is silly logic you are putting forth.

Matsui, it’s only a southasian disease. I have many Arab, Burbers, Alawite, Druz, you name it Muslim friends, and they have never claimed this much propriety on Islam. The Mullahs in Pakistan/India think they invented Islam. My Saudi friends tell me that they won’t mind if Pakistanis moved Mecca and Madina over to Pakistan. Talk about insecurity. They themselves are treated as 3rd class Muslims by the Islamic world at large, and they think by passing the buck, they will somehow become very pious. Wishful thinking.

No Sadz, it does not make you like them, unless you preach people to be killed because of their belief or religion. Angryman is on the record as saying that all Ahmadis should be killed. So I guess, you misunderstood what I meant. I never said all Sunnis are bad, or even if few Sunnis are bad. I said those who believe in killing others because of their beliefs are bad, they could be Sunis, Shias, Ahmadis, or Muslim, or whatever.

You claim to have friends from arab world, ok i believe you. However, have you ever discussed fully the concept of prophethood after muhammad with them? Try doing do that with them and let me know their reaction.
Because i dont have many pakistan friends and mostly people i know are either middle eastern turkish, africans, hence muslims from all over the place.
And they all agree to one thing, a person who believes in any other prophet after muhammad automatically becomes a kafir.
Try discussing this concept of prophet with your middle easter friends, and let me know what they have to say.
And yes i am not one of those who will encourage the killing of shia muslims.

Degas, whioh part of the statement about scriptures being anachronistic do you not understand? It is the same, whether it is the Rig Veda, or the Torah or the Bible or the Koran. These are vehicles for spirituality not dogma. When stupid and unlightened folks spew dogma without understanding the context of time and place things were written in, without understanding the message, they are bound to cause harm. Usually it is to yourself, but with these clowns it is to others.

A correction.. kafir is the one who doesnt believe in one God.. ahmadis u may say are non-muslims

Angryman, if equally ignorant Christians took your attitude they could advocate killing the followers of any of the prophets subsequent to Jesus. After all, they claim the holy books and prophets of the Christians, but damage the reputation and real teachings of Jesus and Christianity. Matter of fact, your campaign to murder Ahmadis is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Jesus, so you apparently skipped His lessons entirely on your way to your intolerant belief system.
