Ya know what?
I had the chance to REALLY listen to this album and I found it a refreshing change. Granted, some of his endeavors into bhangra-pop are fruitless. However, his fusion of qawaali-ghazal-pop is very ear-pleasing. The only thing that really gets in the way is his monotone voice. Like, if Hamid Ali Khan, who I believe is featured on the album, had sung all the songs, I think it would have been even better. Nonetheless, there are a few songs where Fakhr-e-alam brings his voice out of the monotone, like in Zindagi. Also, his music in a lot of his songs remind me of the type of music A.R. Rahman is known for: unconventional.
My most fav tracks are zindagi, talash, fana, khuda ki kasam and de de dil.
Lyrics are also a whole lot more mature.
