How do u tell if a perfume is fake? I mean besides the obvious, Laurin, in place of Ralph Lauren, or “Rememberance” instead of “romance”, or “Blow” by Jo-Lo instead of Glow by J-Lo etc etc you get the picutre… how can u tell if the scent is fake? ![]()

Re: fake?
My mil used to buy tons of perfumes from the wholesale district of Broadway in Manhattan. She claims they were real. I'm not so sure, I have my doubts. She did get me one and I noticed that it did fade rather quickly but the smell is exactly like the real stuff. So it could just be that my nose gets used to it and I don't notice the smell anymore. Besides perfume gives me a headache so it's kinda good i don't smell it too much.
Re: fake?
well myf riend was telin me that perfume shops run by pakistanis get their stuff from broadway and market it as the real stuff... well it's stayed on my shirt for about 7 hrs now, so i'm assuming it's real :D
Re: fake?
The main thing with fakes is that they don't last on u'r skin very long. BUT that's not always the case....sometimes it could just be your body chemistry.......I've tried certain perfumes at Macy's, Dillard's, Saks etc. that does'nt last that long on me.
What u should keep in mind is that if the price sounds too good to be true....it probably is. For example....Let's say someone's selling Chanel #5(3.4 oz, Eau de Toilette) for like $50(it normally retails for around $80)....then I'd be very suspicious. If the price difference b/t what a reputable dept. store and the person selling the perfume is too big, then it's probably not real.
Re: fake?
Hm, lost what if it's from Pak? I got CHance by Chanel, for 3000 rupees.. my chacha, who knos this kinda stuff, sai d it was real.. to check he saw if the box had any chinese lettering on it.. Now the fakes don't last long, so r they body sprays? Coz uk no the body sprays from bath and bodywork r "fake" perfumes?
Re: fake?
Actually it could be real...alot of these private sellers have access to the real stuff and the reason its cheaper is usually because the perfumes are pretty old and have been sitting on a shelf in a department store for a long time, so they usually get new inventory into the store and the old stuff goes back and the distributor usually sells them off much much cheaper...they dont neccessarily have an expiry date but they do lose strength over time. So it probably is real...it just could be a bit old.
Re: fake?
I am allergic to perfumes and fortunately so is my husband. It gives me headaches. I would'nt be able to tell you what is real and what is fake
Re: fake?
Sara, honestly I don’t know anything about perfumes from back home since I’ve never bought any from there.
And no, body sprays are not “fake” perfumes…I mean, they’re not as strong and they’re not hiding to fact that it’s a “body spray”…which automatically means it’s not gonna last as long as a “perfume”.
Re: fake?
lady do a google search and find out what they put in these fakes
you'd be pretty disgusted
Re: fake?
u can c it from the bottle.. original n fake look so similar.. but the fake one has one tiny detail difference..n u also can c by the color of the perfume..
