Fake Tan

I have a question regarding fake tan. I’m getting married soon (in 10 days actually) and I don’t quite like my winter complexion as I think I’ve gotten rather pale. I’m considering getting a slight tan. Nothing extreme though, just a slight glow. What do you think? Do you guys think it would look alright (as in not fake-looking)?

Re: Fake Tan

Your complexion is beautiful! If you've never used fake tan before, that's more the reason to refrain from experimenting so close to your big day. I would suggest using bronzer/blush if you wish to add more color to your face.

Re: Fake Tan

Ok wait. In between Fair and lovely & chemical peels & dark inlaws and gori dulhans, we have someone who wants to go to a darker shade?

What is this, a bizarro world?

Re: Fake Tan

ahahaa

Re: Fake Tan

Also I don't think you should risk it so near to your wedding, plus when you get a tan your whole makeup look may change.

Re: Fake Tan

depends on the colour you 're wearing

if you are wearing darker shade it will suit

Re: Fake Tan

How about eat beets for a week, it will give your natural glow.

Re: Fake Tan

Thank you :). Yeah, I’ve never used fake tan before. I know a couple of people who fake tan during the winter to keep a nice summer glow and as it looks quite nice on them, I was considering giving it a go. It never occurred to me to use bronzer to create a similar effect (as I normally don’t wear bronzer). That’s a great idea. Do you have any bronzer recommendations?

That’s exactly what I’m concerned about. If it doesn't look nice, I won’t have enough time to do anything about it.

I’m wearing two different outfits. One is deep, emerald green with gold (and a touch of cream) accents and the other is a white wedding gown.

Re: Fake Tan

Re: Fake Tan

stick with your complexion

you’re gorgerous btw!!

take vits, drink green tea and have oranges for a glow :phati:

what else do i do

ummm…use besan, and baking soda!

Re: Fake Tan

Just use a bronzer; In winter months I put on eminence mineral powdered sunscreen (which comes in light-dark shades) and I use that all over myself for a tannish glow, looks so amazing.

You are so gorgeous mash-Allah!! Congratulations on your up-coming wedding. All the best

Re: Fake Tan

^^Thank you so much everyone :).

I shall give the green tea and oranges a try! The besan and baking soda bit is interesting. A friend told me about a variation of that with besan and cucumber juice. I will also look into Eminence mineral powder sunscreen. It sounds exactly like what I'm after, a slight tannish glow.

Fake Tan

I go tanning sometimes and I love it. :) it you want you can try 5 minutes and see how you like it, if you want more of a glow then you can do another few minutes. But do it now and only up until 4/5 days before the wedding. It takes a bit for the color to set in. you wont walk out with a glow right away. Bronzer and spray tabs are also nice on your body but don't use spray tan on the face, I don't think it works, its just like another layer of product on your face and it will get on your clothes. in my opinion.if your gonna spray tan do it like slowly scope days before as well so there's there's time for the color to show up.

Fake Tan

Ps you have blue eyes!! How gorgeous???!!

Re: Fake Tan

^Thank you so much :). I quite appreciate the information! I had no idea that it takes a bit for the colour to set in. I always thought that with fake tan the colour appeared right away.

Sorry for the typos! why don't you drop into a tanning salon and ask them for better info. It gets darker as the days go on and same with tanning creams. Some tans do appear right away but they are the kinds that wash away with your shower. I always found them to be thick like a moisturizer and for me I can always feel it on my skin as the rest of the day goes on, never liked them they also kinda smell that's why for my wedding I tanned for a few minutes too. I'm a bit darker than you so I needed to be in the tanning bed a bit longer so I did like 5 minutes 2/3 times, one week or so before my wedding. :)

Re: Fake Tan

10 days is too close - I'd not try anything

Re: Fake Tan
