If I wanted to get “fake” nails professionally, but wanted to leave them on only for a week or so, can I have them removed just as easily at the nail salon without risk of infection???

I've never had fake nails done, but from what i've seen and heard, they leave a pretty ugly residue. About infections, salons do sterilize the tools they work with, but i am not sure how often infections happen.
very painful.... you prob. better off with the ones you can put on at home..
but da ones dat u put on at home r da same frikkin things..hurt like piece of $hoot 
last time i almost ripped ma finger off..but yea it wont infect u…i dono bout da ones u get done from da salon…
but da ones u do at home don’t look bad at all…they almost look like u got it done from da salon

Well I had fake nails couple of times, like for graduation and all. I never got them removed from the saloon I got them from, they would always just fall out after a month or two themselves. Its not painfull or anything, but if you do want to get them off, I believe you can do so its not a big deal, but once you get them you wont want to get them off because they make you're hands look so nice.

You can get 'em done and remove 'em at home. You can buy the solution from any store and dip your nails in it for a few minutes, they come off. But it hurts when you get them done, and sometimes it hurts to take 'em off too. Weakens your nails on top of it.
As nice as a french manicure looks, it's too much of a hassle.
