RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Shaikh has urged the Muslim youth to be aware of elements that were launching “fake jihad”. In an interview, he said that there were large numbers of such elements, which were giving lessons of fake jihad to the youth and misguiding the common man. “Self-claimed mujahideen with their version of jihad are only distracting Muslims,” he said. Sheikh Abdul Aziz said that jihad, in present time, was to shun evil and follow the teachings of Islam. He said it was ironic that Muslims had divided into sects, and that each sect considered itself to be on the correct path and declared the other non-Muslim. He advised young men not to follow such teachings and consult authentic religious scholars for proper guidance. Very good words by the Mufti…btw do you follow the teachings of Islam? Because after talking to some “muslims and ahmadis” I’ve come to know that they even don’t know the difference between huris and virgins nor do they know that there will be no sexual relationships in Paradise. These so called muslims often make fun of religious people with beards(without considering that Prophet(SAW) had a beard, they also make fun of those women who covered themselves for the sake of Allah by calling them “ninja”, and they also often use the term “72 virgins in paradise” which is nowhere in Qur’an and hadith.
These people also support every wrong and unislamic action of their leaders, So Yes we muslims need to learn and follow the teachings of Islam before calling every religious muslim a suicide bomber, calling every covered woman a ninja and calling a person a goat bcoz of his beard.
As far is FAKE JIHAD is concerned, I am 100% with this Mufti. Do you think that war/conflicts happening in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine are fake Jihad. He is not saying that every Jihad happening now a days is Fake. ANyway, we all have to be careful of people who are creating troubles in the name of Jihad

Your point is well taken but for once dear Hareen read the post clearly. You are going off on a tangent here. Rather than dwelling on the words of the Mufti, you chose to post on a totally different topic.
this thread is not going anywhere. Instead of discussing the merits and demrits of every maulana declaring jehad or debating about whether the calls for Jihad in Afghanistan are true to the spirit of Islam, all of you are being defensive and posting the same redundant arguments.
