KARACHI: Muhammad Iqbal Shah, father of Test cricketer Faisal Iqbal and brother-in-law of ex-Pakistan captain Javed Miandad, died at a local hospital after protracted illness on Tuesday. He was around 65. Besides a widow he leaves behind three sons and a daughter to mourn his death. Iqbal Shah served as chief of the defunct sports department of the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC). He** was suffering from Parkinson’s disease.** Javed Miandad when contacted about the burial of deceased Iqbal Shah, said he will be buried at the Model Colony Graveyard near Airport on Wednesday (today) at 10 am.

PHF condoles death of former hockey player
LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Wednesday condoled the death of former hockey player of Pakistan Customs Iqbal Shah who died in Karachi the other day. PHF president Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, secretary Khalid Mahmood and chief selector Khawaja Zakauddin expressed deep sorrow on the demise of Iqbal Shah who was also father of Test cricketer Faisal Iqbal. In their condolence message, the PHF officials prayed for the departed soul and for granting courage to the members of the bereaved family.
