^ You mix 2 tbs of besan with a little bit of haldi. Add lemon juice and mix it. Apply to face for about 20 mins (or until dry) and then wash it of.
You also mentioned that you tan in summer. The key to having fair skin all year around is to apply sunblock religiously and avoid the sun as much as possible. I never tan in summer and stay fair all year around because I don't go in the sun. The sun also contributes to fine lines and ageing so your'e better of avoiding it (not only because of tanning).
And another note to everyone is to avoid those fairness creams. Two of my cousins were quite tanned and started using Golden Pearl. They became fair really quickly, however, now that they have stopped using it they have gotten darker than before. So unless you intend on remaining dependent on such creams forever stay AWAY from them. There are steps you can take to preventing tanning and it's easy (as I have mentioned..just avoid the sun).
thanks princess but its not so easy to avoid sun ... i go out a lot and walk a lot ... I know that sun is not good for the skin .. before I used to get a nice tan, now I get plain dark!!!
^ If you do walk outside a lot try carrying an umbrella (yes, even when it's summer). This will help keep you in the shade. I don't know where you are but where I live this is becoming more common because of the harsh affects of the sun.
i got this face wash from MD forte with a 20 % glycolic acid or something.. and i think it is making my face darker... anyone got a similar result from this face wash??
gosh ppl..no need to be so mean to the questioner. i mean if she was asking how to get a tan, i'm sure we would all be telling her about suntan lotions.
anyway, if you want to even out your skin tone, you can use any sort of chemical exfoliant (ex. lemon juice which has citric acid, dairy which has lactic acid, etc) to even out your skin. So these desi totkay actually do have some basis. If you don't want to experiment at home, you can get various peels professionally done ex. glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, etc. One can also use the Obagi system which is based on a series of peels plus hydroquinone treatments. Some people say HQ isn't safe, others say it is.
Since you are removing the topmost layer of your skin with any treatment, you become more susceptible to getting a tan. it's kind of a catch-22 because although you do get brighter skin, you become more prone to getting a worse tan. So be extra careful with sun exposure following any sort of skin exfoliation.

if you havnt ever used bleaches or creams or sunblocks, i would suggest dont start using them now. just try having more fruits and LOTS of water in your daily diet. fruits really help making the skin fairer and glowing. at least it works for me!
Yeah I have the same issue with sun tans, although not fair, I'm not dark either. oured. I find my face tans quite quickly and is often a differnt shade to my neck, which makes blending make up awkward. So tend to use sunblock pretty much all year around, which has helped.
Whenever someone on this forum asks how they can be fairer why are they immediately attacked? So what if the OP wants to fix her tan? Why are comments such as "How about you get over this light skinned complex and just maybe thank God for what you have " being made? I seriously doubt that if someone came here and said they wanted advice on what tanning lotions are the best they wouldn't be bombarded with such ridiculous comments.
Furthermore, it's a fact that a lot of people believe fairer skin IS more attractive (in the pak culture anyway) and if individuals want to be fairer well go ahead and let them. There is no need to criticise.
very good point skin lightening is just as nnormal as skin tanning . really.i personally think that katrina skin colour is more prettier then bipasha...
i guess thats ur veiw but i dont think its not all about skin colour.
features and healthy skin play a big part aswell and the persons personality is important above all.
i personally think that katrina and bipasha have different looks and both are pretty :)
