Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

Y do guys (or their parents) always come and check gals out for a rishta, y cant a gal do the same. I wish we gals could look for a rishta the way these guys do. Go to their places, check the guy out, give them a taste of their own medicine.

BB: if they are judging u just by ur looks, then doesnt that show u their mentality. They are so narrow-minded, Inshallah u will find someone who wouldn't care about the color of ur skin. Well if it makes u feel better, u can try out all of those creams u named, but i m sure they all have some sort of side affect, i have heard fair and lovely and stillman's causes pimples and in addition increases hair growth.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

oh people plz admit.... we all know that fair colour just matters a lot espacially in the society we r living... a fair girl will always be prefered over a dark or even a bit tan girl... this is a bitter truth of our society n we all know that ... so when someone is asking about how to get a better complexion we should rather try to help them if v can ... bcux this is a issue .. n alot of ppl r going through this...
hope i hv not been rude but the fact is fact :)

I love JLO's complexion, it's sorta olive/gold...I don't know but I love it.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

**Not always.. **thank God..

(and generally speaking just because something has become common or normal in society doesn't make it ok or mean some girls should have to suffer beause of it.. Fair enough if you choose to lighten, but you shouldn't feel you have to or need to)

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

If you really think there's a problem 'problem' with your skin colour, my best advice would to be see your doctor and get your blood tested instead of blindly applying whitening creams. For example few years ago, my cousin was experiencing increased tanning, she applied every sort of cream to get her complexion right but eventually through an accidental blood test she found out that her strange dusky complexion was a result of certain vitamins and iron deficiency. A good diet and prescribed supplements made a world of difference to her complexion (no she didn’t turn icy white or anything)…so ruin don’t your skin further by using whitening creams…consult someone.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman’s/Bleach.. (merged threads)

haha I hate to admit this  but I tried this facewash from Pakistan.. Garnier “Light” lemon facewash something or other…and I SWEAR my skin was radiant and glowing after like 2-3 uses!

I feel like my skin’s gotten alot darker. Either that, or my previous camera was lying to me and my new camera is showing me the “true” me..eh.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach..

Ok I know this post is really old, but this kind of mentality really isnt....Like seriously? What fault is it of the "gori" girl that she has "terrible" features and bad skin that she needs to be insulted, especially over something that isn't even in her control???

Not ALL dark skinned girls have great skin and beautiful features and not ALL light skinned girls have bad skin and ugly features and to constantly use this argument just makes the "dark-skinned" person sound all the more shallow and bitter than their "gori" counterpart.

^LOL…its like… you are fighting for your rights …and then after a while…you are actually fighting to grab others’ too :hehe:

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

^ exactly...and that's what's annoying..why some ppl feel that, in order to stand up for one thing, they must put down another thing.....

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

Isn't that what a comparison is, Sara? When you compare two or more things, you prefer one over the other(s). The ones you don't prefer, you're automatically liking less than what you do prefer which may be seen as "putting down" but that is one's own perspective. The poster above thinks that skin colour doesn't define beauty. Why is that mentality wrong? Her mother thinks if you're dark skinned that's it you're ugly but the poster thinks one could be dark skinned *and *beautiful.

To many, Angelina Jolie is more beautiful than Paris Hilton. Both are white but one has better facial features than the other. Does that mean Paris Hilton deserves to be insulted? I don't think the poster said that anywhere. She's just not *as *beautiful to those people and that is their opinion.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

Simply having a preference for one thing over another isn't considered insulting the other thing....it's when you also state negative things about the other then it becomes insulting.

I can say I think Angelina Jolie is beautiful but I don't have to say that Paris Hilton is ugly to state my preference.

I can say that I like desi food but I don't have to say that chinese/mexican/etc food is horrible.

I can say that I think dark skinned girls are pretty WITHOUT having to say that "gori girls are ugly."

I get waht the poster was saying....but she could simply have said that skin color doesn't define beauty, she didn't have to say that the "gori" girl has (in her opinion) terrible features....and I don't know about you but saying someone has ugly skin or terrible features IS an insult and putdown.

Re: Fair n Lovely/Stillman's/Bleach.. (merged threads)

I've heard people say "Oh she's pretty, she's fair".....it's interesting how "fair" comes right after the word "pretty". Anyhow..when I look at the girl...I see someone whose facial features/figure are average. So, when I mention my opinion.....I get the response "yeah..but she's fair". No mention of any other physical attributes...it just starts and ends with skin tone. I've encountered this situatin a few times...even from girls within my age group...not just aunties.

You could be fair skinned...but not be all that attractive. I don't really see it as "putting down"....but rather that there's more to beauty...it doesn't just begin and end at skin tone.
