Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

Experiences please!

Re: Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

Nope. I have seen some cousins wearing it lol. It just has white pigments which makes them look "white", quite literally. My khala is a doctor and she told us it has bleach added to it which may seem to work in the short term but you are ruining your skin in the long term. My advice? stay away.

Re: Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

Probably very toxic. I wouldn't use anything that alters skin to any extent, that's inviting skin cancers.

Re: Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

I hear if you put a penny in fair and lovely, it will turn it white.

Re: Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

It does work - I know someone who uses it regularly and her face has turned fair.

But her hands are super dark and it just looks off.

The other issue with her is that her skin has thinned out - blue veins show in some parts :(

You mean Chitti Cream???

Re: Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

fair and lovely only caused pimples for me. I wasnt looking to get lighter, just wanted an overall even skintone. I started using the Obagi line and that helped.

Re: Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

there's a cream called nikhaar which makes you fairer

Re: Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

I used it once almost a decade ago cause I got a free sample from collage. Pimples started popping out in the next 30 min or so. Never tried again.

Re: Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

It does thin out the skin. so think skin means wrinkles earlier. I don't think it actually makes you fairer, but rather takes away the blemishes on the skin, which makes your skin look brighter and rather makes you look "fairer." It won't make your skin lighter than your original skin tone.

Re: Fair and Lovely - Does it Work??

I don't the science behind it or negative effects... But speaking from experience it does work.

But I'd apply it evenly on face, hands, neck etc. you don't want to end up with a pale white face and brown everything else.

My face is paler than my neck, and my hands are darker than both so I use it on my hands and sometimes on my neck to even everything out.

also, works great on dark eye circles.
