Failures in Life

Do you think failure is the most difficult thing to deal with?

What is the best way to deal with a failure?

How do you usually react to failures?

(it can be any sort of failure)

Re: Failures in Life

I blame my self....blame my bad luck....be depressed.......and slowly recover....and try making it again.......

Re: Failures in Life

Prozac ?

Re: Failures in Life

Blame it on god No seroiusly....If u are a person of faith... U believe that its upto Him for u to succeed in what u take a go at....So i try me best.. Give it my all... And if i fail at something, i just say...ok so HE has other plans for me, me failing was in my best intrest.....and move on. Easy. It leaves me at peace with myself.

Re: Failures in Life

Everyone fails at one time or another, at something or other. Failure is not a crime, but how quickly you bounce back up is what makes you shine.

Re: Failures in Life

Failures give you a chance to start over.

Re: Failures in Life

I always think "Jo bhi hota hai, achay kay liye hota hai". That 'motto' really helps me to not overthink the situation so much that I end up feeling depressed about it, rather, it makes me feel at peace and optimistic about the future.

Re: Failures in Life

I usually learn lesson from mistakes (failures), and that doesnt make me feel bad.

Re: Failures in Life

To succeed, one has to fail. Otherwise, that person has not stretched him/herself to the limit.

Re: Failures in Life

  1. Not the most difficult thing, but it sure hurts like heck.

  2. I suppose it depends on the nature of the failure. It might help to understand that the reason why it hurts is because failure is contrary to our expectations.

  3. I tend to just suppress stuff, it's less fussy that way. : D

Re: Failures in Life

Wonderful answers everyone. :k:

Mirch,

Any personal experiences?

Re: Failures in Life

i think we had a similar thread some time ago.

Failures and Success are part of a normal life and a normal person has to face both. All we need to do is to learn lessons, analyse where we made mistakes and not to repeat them again.

Re: Failures in Life

How I deal with it would depend on the sort of failure, some won't bother me much, some would bother me so much that I won't even try again :)

Re: Failures in Life

Generally speaking I see it as: True failure isn't when you fail an exam or face an obstacle in your life, it's when you don't pick yourself back up again, accept it as God's decision and move on with your head held high. :)

Re: Failures in Life

can there be a life without failures?

A guy can fail to become a medical doctor and turns out to be one of the finest investment banker! would you call it a failure?

A couple lives in frustration, decides to divorce, later marrying somebody else, eventually leading a health life? where was the failure here???

To me Failure is something which opens the key of something totally new and refreshing and that is according to the hidden potential of the person....so failure is the phase, if you have not reached it, you are far from success...

Re: Failures in Life

Arnold Schwarzenegger was a failure, he lost his first Mr. Olympia competition, alot of his starting movies absolutely SUCKED, but then again, he won the Mr. Olympia competition 7 times and was one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, and he also made some of the greatests films of all time including the “Conan” series and “Terminator”, he was also the twice governor of California.

he shares some of his views on failure here.

Re: Failures in Life

you learn from your mistakes.
if you never make a mistake you never improve.

Re: Failures in Life

I think the best way is to believe it has happened for the best (although it is quite hard to be so accepting) and move on. It means you get to do something other than what you had planned, it opens up possibilities and I remember my teacher telling me once, it shapes who we are. It's how we handle our failure that determines who we become, so why not turn it into something positive?

Obviously this all comes after a week of watching chick flicks and digging into the Haagen Dazs :)

Re: Failures in Life

Have a complete hissy fit and let everyone know that im having a complete hissy fit until people stop listening and then I can regroup and evaluate the situation in an adult manner (ha ha).

The trick is probably not to aim too high but who needs tricks. Try, try and try again!

Having said that, it really depends on the situation. I did not actually have a complete hissy fit when I failed my driving test as everyone and I mean EVERYONE said it was ‘ok’. It’s ok to fail a driving test. Said by ‘everyone’ apart from Loserjee as he’s American and Americans drive toy cars and not real cars. :snooty:
