Failure

How do you define failure and how do you handle it?

Re: Failure

Ugh!! Dont make me think plz!! its too late to think. :p

Re: Failure

Failure? After 15 years of driving in Canada I just failed my Los Angeles driving test. There were no major accidents, I didn't hit a pedestrian. I'm a good driver, maybe not as aggressive as the other LA drivers. But he failed me. I don't blame myself completely for that but I could do better next time. So failure is not doing as well as I'm capable of. I'm disappointed, let down. But I'll just get back in the car and try again.

I try not to let anything get to me too much emotionally. I immediately realize my errors and think of ways to improve myself. I think of faillure as motivation to learn new skills and to change old mistakes. Wish me luck!

Re: Failure

… when u try ure best but end up being unsuccessful, what a miserable feeling :crying:

Re: Failure

 eat chocolates and you’ll feel better

Re: Failure

In my book, there is no such thing as failure, Deal with it, its a bump in the road, move on.

Re: Failure

Failure is when you give up...

The only thing I gave up is feeling sorry for myself and eating like a hog...now I jus live and if i do splurge then i make up for it...and if I do have a depressing day then I occupy myself.

I look in the mirror and I no more say..omg I'm such a waste..now i;m absolutely gorgeous...yes big bum and all! :D

Re: Failure

for me its when the calculated outcome is off …towards good OR bad, its off! thats my definition of failure pcg.. and i dont deal with it .. i throw it outta my head.. and start fresh..

cuz if i start fresh, it didnt really happen.. simple

Re: Failure

I don't believe in failure. You try something, you either do it or you don't. . . you either keep on trying or you don't. . . and if you do, then good for you and if you don't. . well maybe it wasn't worth it anyway.
That's kind of a depressing attitude i think but it's gotten me through, it teaches you how to move on i guess.
I cry when I don't succeed at something. . . and then I move on or tryto anyway.
This reminds me of a line from U2, "there's no failure here sweetheart, just when you quit". i think that sums up my view perfectly.
Ultimately, I think we only fail if we go to hell. Now that would suck. . .

Re: Failure

failure, does not exist in my vocabulary.

Re: Failure

Failure is a necessity in life. Fullstop!

can u imagine life without failure? we wud be flooding threads titled
"help!! i'm sick of predictable success!"

"depress... life has no challenges for me"

"successful and suicidal"

"define success and how do u handle it?"

lolz

Re: Failure

I define failure in academic and professional terms. All other failures (i.e. relationships) are inconsequential if I have achieved professional success.

Re: Failure

^ that doesn't make sense Sarah, and if you believe what you say then that's worrying. There are definitely successful and failed relationships.

Re: Failure

I am not good with dealing with failure. I fall like a deck of cards when I fail and it is not pretty.

Re: Failure

but you are defined as either/or through your achievments in career, not in relationships.

Re: Failure

^ I disagree, i would say both are equally important.

Re: Failure

There is more to the definition of a person than their career and their material achievements.

Many are defined by the type of person they are,by their character, emotions, spirituality, ther affect on others, their leadership and their deeds. Few by their material achievements.

Re: Failure

If I am not wrong, if u have a Canadian Licence u just exchange to get a USA Driving Licence. You dont have to pass a test. I got USA driving Licence just by showing my British Driving Licence. Same happened & I got the Canadian Licence by showing my British driving licence, didn't have to go through any tests.

Re: Failure

The best solution is NOT giving up.

Failure does come and its okay if it happens. I sometimes feel i have a problem and that is i dont give up* . Even if it means for me to try 20 times i keep on doing it.

My thinking I am not giving up the other person probably will and usually does ;) that makes me a winner.

Its okay to fail and fall down but once you do Always get up with passion and fight back like a true warrior.

Always works for me. I get up and fight back with Help of Allah ALWAYS.*

Re: Failure

I wish! Not anymore. Since I have a Canadian drivers license, I had to first do the written test then a road test. However, my husband who has a Michigan license only had to do the written test. :frowning:
