Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

I'm born Muslim.......
It seems you havent read my post 1 completely.....
Read it then give your comments then I'll talk to you inshaAllah
Which Religious Leaders you are talking about......If they havent declared them Kafir and Mushrik its thier fault.
But what do you call a person who say Aga khan dude is Allah{naudhbillah}

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

One of my best friends at school was Ismaili.... from what I saw, they can't even agree on their religion themselves. Some examples:

The current Aga Khan apparently declared that fasting during Ramadan is not obligatory. My friend, on that basis, did not keep all fasts during Ramadan.

His mother, who is also Ismaili, believes the Aga Khan is wrong on this matter and instead made sure she kept all the fasts during Ramadan. He said that at their mosque/jamaatkhana, people are split between a minority who believe the Aga Khan is incorrect on this matter and the majority who believe the Aga Khan.

Another time I was at my friends house. His younger sister pointed at a photo of the Aga Khan and said something like "He is my God" or "He is like my God".

My friend told her that the Aga Khan was not God and right then and there on the spot they began having an argument over whether or not the Aga Khan is divine.

From what I understand, the current Aga Khan has made certain declarations that have taken Ismailis much further away from regular Shias than they were 50 years ago.

And you'll find at least one Shia brother on this board who used to take a passionate stand against Ismailis and denounce them as non-Muslim. I'm not giving his name because I don't know if he still holds that view or not and I don't want to put words in his mouth.

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

Read madd scientist post. I call you as one of those people who see a fitna in islam and stay quiet and do nothing, because to you its ' wrong' and 'immoral'. Read your history and you will know what muslims did against the various Fitna's of their times. One thing is for sure, their answer was NOT ' Who are we to judge !!'. That is one reason these fitn'as grew larger and larger because we became cowards and baghairat. Forget about taking an action against these Fitna's, we are too scared to open up our mouth or write about them. Patheitc.

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

You are absolutely right, if its fitna. But who will decide that ? College going students in west & US and that too in their twenties ??

Sometimes, i feel this site is just meant for Sunni Pakistanis. They get best of the treatment & support. Looks like mafia , sometime.
Just my humble opinion.

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

I think the opposite, i think this site give's all the fitna's and let them flourish in their on ways. Just my humble opinion.

Sahih Bukhari
Volume 3, Book 48, Number 809:
Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab:

People were (sometimes) judged by the revealing of a Divine Inspiration during the lifetime of Allah's Apostle but now there is no longer any more (new revelation). Now we judge you by the deeds you practice publicly, so we will trust and favor the one who does good deeds in front of us, and we will not call him to account about what he is really doing in secret, for Allah will judge him for that; but we will not trust or believe the one who presents to us with an evil deed even if he claims that his intentions were good.

Following is the story of Al Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib, who fought with the Quraysh against the Muslims at Badr. He claimed to have become Muslim, but he was still treated like the enemy. Something similar to the following is mentiond in the Tafsir of ibn Kathir under Surah Anfal.
*Among the captives at Badr was Al Abbas, the Prophet's uncle. He was brought to Al-Madinah with other captives, who were made to ransom themselves.Abbas was brought before the Prophet, who ordered him to ransom himself and his two nephews, for he was a rich man. Al Abbas replied "I was a Muslim but the people compelled me (to fight)." The Prophet's answer was, "Allah knows best about your Islam. If what you say is true, Allah will reward you for it. But to all outward appearance you have been against us, so pay us your ransom." Now the Prophet had taken twenty okes of gold from him. So AlAbbas agreed to pay his own ransom, the ransom of his two nephews, as well the ransom of one of his allies. But the Prophet's answer was, "That has nothing to do with your ransom. Allah took that from you and gave it to us." Abbas said, "I have no money." "Then where is the money which you left with' Ummul-Fadl, daughter of Al-Harith when you left Makkah? You two were alone when you said to her, If I am killed so much is for Al-Fadl,Abdullah and Qutham andUbaydullah." "By him who sent you with the truth", exclaimed AlAbbas, "None but she and I knew of this. Now I know that you are the Messenger of Allah." So Al `Abbas agreed to pay his own ransom, the ransom of his two nephews, as well the ransom of one of his allies. *

so did Abbas(ra) accept Islam after this event ?......i thought he converted just before conquest of Makkah?

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

I don't know when Al Abbas radhiAllahuanhu accepted Islam, Allah knows best as to the date. But I do know that after this incident he worked as a spy for the muslims and went back to Makkah. Al Abbas was the first person to tell the Prophet salAllahualaihiwasallam that Quraish were getting ready to attack and then Uhud took place.

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

As Salaam O Alaykum

As Shias we have 3 conditions for a Muslim

i) Belief in oneness of God (Tawheed)
ii) Belief in the concept of Prophethood (Nabuwat) & the last Prophet, Muhammed
iii) Belief in the day of Judgement (Qiyamat.)

In Madressah, I was taught that a Muslim is someone who accepts the commands of Allah SWT and His Prophet and believes in the day of Judgement.

I do not personally know enough to state whether or not Ismailis follow these 3 conditions but I am quite sure that they do.

The source of all this is available on request.

WaSalaam

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

^ Yes, ismailies do believe in the oneness of God; 2) They bear witness that prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the last messenger of Allah; 3) Yes, they do believe in the day of judgement.
Thus they are Muslims.

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili

Is there something special about the word "Dude" which I missed, except being disrespectful to a person who somebody else might respect. Careful when you do that because somebody may start writing this kind of words for people we respect. Hope you understand what I mean.
Sarcasm and making fun will not let you learn, what you intend to do.:)

Re: Facts about Agakhanis by a former Ismaili
