Excuse me for any vagueness, I’m not that great with the technical side of laptops..
I have a vaio, it was acting very slow and had some virus/malware within it.. so we reinstalled windows and made a partition in the drives and now both issues are resolved. Yet some of the built in vaio features such as vaio care have disappeared.. apparently I can individually download each driver for these features but ideally I wish to have it as new, with all pre installed softwares etc.
However the c drive has been formatted which I’m led to understand the recovery partition is also gone, meaning I cannot factory reset it to how it was when it was new.. So how can I resolve this.?
If you just reformatted C drive not re-partitioned the entire HDD, the hidden recovery partition still will be there, you can turn off your system and press the recovery function key while starting your system (most probably F10) to get into the recovery wizard and from there can go back to the factory softwares. But i suggest you to keep the current install and individually install what actually you need/will use. Most of the softwares are trial-wares and bloatwares that you actually dont require, just install the drivers, your laptop will perform much better without all those bloatwares.
The recovery partition would only disappear if you completely format the drive, which I assume that you didn't since you used the vaio recovery option.
The other scenario is that you didn't know better and when you go into recovery, you decided to format C: and the small 1 or 2 GB special "recovery" partition. I know that you can do it if you have a Windows install disk (format everything) but I don't think that it is possible through recovery disk.
If you did a vaio recovery, then you should have vaio care on your computer as that is one of the bloatware that comes as a factory installed program.
