facial wax?

hey, has anybody got facial wax? does it hurt? and above everything else, does it minimize or aggravate the facial hair growth? plus, what kind of wax is used since facial skin is the most sensitive and fragile? i have heard and read several times that threading actually aggravates hair growth and the re-grown hair is more thick and beard-like? does the wax work the same way? I don’t want to go through the electrolysis process since i am skeptical about its long-term effects. That is why comtemplating wax but having a beard and moustache are two of the last things i would ever want!

Re: facial wax?

i think waxing is meant to make your hair finer and thinner over time... it certainly did on my legs! :p
my cousin waxes her face and sometimes burns herself if she's not careful with temperature so thats the only thing i can think of as something to be careful about... and i think they just use sensitive skin wax to do it. as for hurt, i'd imagine the same as getting threading?

Re: facial wax?

at least with waxing it's over a lot faster than threading. threading hurts! can't stand it. but honestly, if you can afford it, shell out for laser hair removal. it's fabulous, and worth every penny.

Re: facial wax?

yes it hurts 1 tami but then u will get used to it but use aftershave after if u have sen. skin my cousin told me to do thatbut dont use any other product after because ur skin gets more sensitive after waxing and if u have really sensitive skin u can burn ur skin very easly i do sometimes but use a special wax ore get it done by a pro....

Re: facial wax?

I had it done once and it resulted in a breakout.

It was a horrible breakout which took ages to fix.

Re: facial wax?

I had a fascial wax once that ruined my whole face with burn. It was horriable and that was the last time, but then i did laser believe me it was worth it. No more hassal. I wounder if in pakistan laser is cheaper or not.... i know its kinda expensive here in usa, but its worth every penny....

Re: facial wax?

face wax is not horrible or painfull if of a good quality and done from a good saloon

Re: facial wax?

I would not recommend waxing for your face. The way waxing works is that warm wax is smoothed onto your skin and then muslin strips are smoothed on over it. These strips are then torn away from the skin bringing with them wax and hair. This is ideal for removing large areas of hair ie. from legs, arms very quickly. However, for your face I'd say it's a no-no. The stripping away process stretches the delicate skin on your face and over time will make it sag...

Oh and waxing and threading both hurt, but you do get used to the pain over time...I haven't heard of regrowth from threading being thicker...hair is still pulled out at the roots like with waxing...

I've also heard that lasering is good...

Re: facial wax?

all i hear that its not good to get facial wax because it increases fine lines and wrinkles...when you pull the skin, you'll get droopy skin especially with eyebrow waxing.
Also doesn't waxing open your pores, and you can get that green discoloration? :S
I also hear that your hair comes out thicker and u end up getting more hair, your facial skin is different and more sensitive then the rest of your body...so id have second thoughts about it.

Re: facial wax?

I wouldnt recommend waxing for facial hair - i'd rather go for threading as it doesnt affect skin elasticity as much and also theres a less chance of cominng out with some rash/irritation. Also, bleach is a good way to lighten facial hair without actually removing them, good option if you havent got much facial hair or dont want to remove certain facial hair.

Re: facial wax?

dont wax your face! its horrible for the face. as everyone else said it can potentially burn your skin, it might give you rashes or bumps (it happened to me too....they went away after a whole year!) and it will most definitely make your skin sag, less elastic . dont do it. get electrolysis done instead. or even threading is better than waxing i think.

Re: facial wax?

electrolysis hurttsssss. You guys thread your upper lip as well? Waxing does sag your skin..laser is the best.
