What are my options for mole removal from my face… I have quite a few. One large one (1/2 cm) which is raised above the skin surface and a several little ones which aren’t raised, they’re just areas of really dark skin.
Does the procedure leave scars? How expensive is it? Has anyone had and what would their recommendations be?

nvr had it done but from what i have heard and seen it leaves a scar the diameter of the mole. how bad the scar depends on how deep the root of the mole was.
you can always get laser done to lessen the scar...in time it will fade.
Moles can easily be removed by laser.. the scar is usually just a fleshy colored mark..which fades away with time.. and can be lightened using topical gels/creams.
does this apply to a specific type of mole? just been looking at wikipedia and there seems to about 10 different types of moles!
interestingly, I found thisblog which claims facial moles can tell you about ur personality…

I had two facial moles removed. Both were the raised type. One was small and just under and to the left of my left nostril and the other was larger and under my left earlobe.
They used a scalpel and laser, no stitches required. They both left a trace of a scar but you really need to get up close and search in order to see the scars. All the difference is made in how you care for the area after removal. It takes 6 to 9 months or more of using sunblocks and creams on the area. It should never dry out and it should never be exposed to sun.
Cost...hmmm. it was a long time ago that I had mine done but it was about 150 us dollars for the smaller one and about 300 for the larger one.

I’ve found thisclinic who claim to exclusively use radiosurgery. Sounds interesting but apparently its only for raised skin lesions. Most of the moles that concern me aren’t raised, they’re just hyperpigmented areas of skin…

Those are more difficult (I've had a couple of those removed too, I'm of scot heritage and I giess we have a talent to grow skin complaints against the sun lol). They have to go a bit deeper into the skin to remove these and it usually involve stitches. Again, its the after-care that makes all the difference in how much of a scar it leaves. But with the flat moles, the skill of the surgeon is key too since they have to go deeper and have to stitch. Sunscreen (max SPF) and keeping it covered till its near invisible is what you need to do. There will likely be a small white-ish patch where the mole was, a bit smaller than the mole but really not noticeable without very close scrutiny.
...and ps, its a good idea to have the flat ones removed anyway. THose are the ones that can tend to grow into the aggressive form of melanoma thats tough to cure. Not that it will happen, esp if you keep an eye on the shape and color of the moles but why keep it yeah? Have it removed and no more worries.

that's what worries me... they seem to be multiplying and it could just be me being overdramatic but I swear one or two of them are bigger now than they were about a year ago (from looking at pics)... mind you they're still no bigger than about 3/4mm so I'm not too concerned

First get it checked by the doctor if it's harmeless then try this very easy thing and you could do that by yourself or get help from any of your family member.
Again done by a doctor infront of me to a family member. So yeah doctor proven.
If it is raised then it is better and easier.
Ghoray ka baal lain. Kioon? Is kay ilawa choon kay is kay ilawa aap doctor say ja kar katwa sakteen hain.
Naheen to koi agar bahimmat insaan ho ghar main to mole ko pehlay sterilize kar lain detol say phir sookh jaanay pay chahain to sun karnay wala dawa daal lain aur kisi say kahain kay ussay kaat dalain aur marham patti kar dain.
Both are told and done by doctor to a close family member.

gr88 heera,,,ufffff u r really a doc not only 4 urself also 4 others....well i got them removed by laser.....n result was super,,but mine were only in my skin (plain) not raised type...

yup I've def heard that before, but none of mine are raised off the skin (one is a little bit but even that's not raised enough to tie a hair around it!!)

You really should get moles checked out for melanoma.
