I was using Alba Hawaiian Organics Coconut Milk facewash for the longest time and it is the best I have used. No matter how much I rave about it, I won’t be doing it justice. But since I discovered some nasty possibly carcinogenic chemicals in it (I am very anal about these things), I’m looking for a replacement. Any ideas? What about traditional desi homemade recipes? And what do you guys use?
Re: Facewash?
Just regular drugstore stuff, Loreal Pure zone blue scrub wash thinggy…it exfoliates and smells nice ![]()
I heard Dove is pretty pure actually, so u cud try that…
Re: Facewash?
I have tried Dove, it doesnt even come close to how good the coconut one is, but again, I want natural home made alternatives, without parabens.
Re: Facewash?
ahaan…
well my face hasn’t fall off in the 10 years i been using regular products, so…
whatever works for u :k:
Re: Facewash?
Sarah I just recently started using Milk Thistle it is a bath and body product and really i love it. Try it... I think you will like it.
Actually ammi used some of mine and she's like hmmm this is really good, yeah so ended up buying that as one of her mother's day gifts :)
Re: Facewash?
ummm u could always use besan :) like make a facewash out of besan, haldi, lemon and a bit of milk... and use that daily..
Re: Facewash?
Doesn't haldi leave like a yellowish color on your face. ???
Re: Facewash?
Cetaphil ( think thats how u spell it) really gentle and ur skin feels real soft afterwards.
Re: Facewash?
I use 'besan' as sadzz told..and it works pretty good on my skin.
You can also mix besan with milk and lemon and then use it.
Re: Facewash?
If you want a completely natural cleanser then try using pure olive oil.
Other cleansers that I rate highly are the Carrot Butter Cleanser from the Organic Pharmacy, and any of the cleansers from REN.
Dr Hauschka are organic line but their cleansers contain alcohol and can be very drying on the face.
Re: Facewash?
so haldi doesn't leave a yellowish tone on your face????
I think i'm gonna have to try... sounds good :)
Re: Facewash?
haldi does, you have to use the tiniest amount
Re: Facewash?
^ thanks :)
Re: Facewash?
Any face wash with tea tree oil or aloe vera in it is really good.
Re: Facewash?
Farah_no, I tried using the Tea Tree Oil facewash from the Body Shop and it made me break out a lot. I don't have acne prone skin, but this facewash did a number on me.
Re: Facewash?
My skin is very sensitive and I use the Tea tree oil facial scrub from superdrug and it always clears up my skin. I break out in spots when I use make up.
Re: Facewash?
I can use Tea Tree Oil toner, but not the actual face wash. I guess my skin is more sensitive than I would like to believe. :(
Re: Facewash?
Thank you guys!
Shahreen, I got inspired by the Carrot Butter Cleanser, so I made my own!
Two carrots cut and peeled - make juice out of them
Strawberry juice out of a handful of strawberries
Put the juice in the blender, add an apple with the skin on (for exfoliation)
Add some honey and any oils you want
I threw in some coconut milk as well
Aloe vera gel
Shake it up
Put in the ground up carrot when you made carrot juice
Voila!
Hope it works well.
