FB is changing because it needs parity with Google+, the new social network on the scene. Facebook needs to be seen as progressive; otherwise it could be demonised. It is trying to emulate twitter and google plus, and make changes without proper thought of its users.
And don’t forget FB is a promotional website as well for companies. They keep it updated all the times so users won’t get bored and they 'll learn new technologies.
